Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the The Top Ship Inn this weekend. Fantastic value for money. Our room was spacious and clean, which was also re-made after our first night's stay. The staff were wonderful and polite. There was a great choice for breakfast and the meal we had the first night was lovely. We will definitely go back to... More

We had an evening meal here and it was very good.Of note was my son's rump steak which was delightfully tender.Nicely furnished bar and a cosy fire.Proper job.I understand the same chap runs this and the Bottom Ship down at the Weir. This is much the better!

We stayed her here as a large hiking group and has a most superb experience. This hotel and pub and restaurant is very authentic Somese with flagstone floorings and plenty of tables, some in nooks, others large in the open plan restaurant . It's always a pleasures to be in a bar with locals. The restaurant was very busy at... More

This was booked for a walking club weekend. The room and board rates were very reasonable. The service and food very very good. The manager and bar staff were always smiling, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We were a large group and early breakfasts were produced quickly and with a smile. The manager also remembered our orders second... More

My husband, our two dog & I spent two nights at this 13th century pub, the food was amazing, staff really friendly and the dogs were allowed everywhere apart from the main restaurant which wasn't a problem as the bar/breakfast area is fine and definitely had that old world pub charm. Our room was very clean albeit a bit tired... More

The pub is full of charm with friendly staff. But the food is not as good as other reviews had made us expect. We ate on two consecutive nights. The first night the food was fairly bland (lamb shank). The second night we ordered steak which was overcooked.

My husband and I stayed for four days over Christmas with our three dogs. Our room was lovely and comfortable and very clean. All facilities for tea making were there and replenished daily. The landlord was excellent as were his staff, he prepared a beautiful cheese, which was placed on the bar with crackers for all to share. We went... More

We have stayed here before and it is just a fantastic place. We booked the winter weekend rates and the room was great, food fantastic and the staff are fab. I left my handbag (wine overload) in the bar and there it was safe and sound in the morning. We used the restaurant on Saturday evening and the food was... More

Stayed here last weekend with hubby, sister and brother in law. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms are basic but have everything you need, we stayed on a winter special, £80 per couple for 2 nights, the heating system broke down on our 2nd night, we were provided with an electric heater which was fine and management insisted we had...
