We visited Kilve for four days and the hood became our local. Amazing Sunday Roasts and they were really child friendly and our 5year old loved the garden. The staff were friendly and the food was really to a high standard even our daughter loved her homemade chips!, Service was excellent! Thank you.

I have been meaning to write this review for 3 months but have been so busy since our wedding that I haven't had a chance until now. My husband and I got married on Saturday 21st December 2013 and we knew it would be a crazy day so we decided The Hood Arms would be a good option for the... More

We have only given a 4* rating as we only had lunch. We stopped here by chance on Mothering Sunday but the staff managed to find us a table as it was early. So glad they did, as the lunch was wonderful. Proper pub, excellent range of beers and ciders and superb food. Staff were very helpful and professional with... More

Stayed for a business trip for 3 nights with a colleague, Food great, room great, staff great. what more could you ask, Even John the owner gave us a different route to get into Taunton for work over the wonderful Quantock Hills, what a way to start the day, hopefully we will be back again.

We stayed for 4 nights in March at Stag Lodge – the holiday apartment – a birthday trip away. The lodge (and all the rooms) are situated at the back of the inn, away from the main road. I would definitely call this an inn rather than a hotel. We arrived at lunchtime on the first day and received a... More

My wife and I went to the Hood Arms for a light lunch. Upon arrival, my first impression was that it is situated on a very busy road and you would have to be a very good sleeper indeed if you wanted to stay overnight. Unfortunately, a Caterfood van was also parked right outside the front of the establishment making... More

Lovely fire going when we arrived and no one sitting at it! Great beef ciabatta and beer and a great stop off on wall between Quantocks and Klive beach. Has rooms too so may use next te down this way :)

I wasn't going to write this review but changed my mind:- 1. NOT because when I arrived I struggled up a staircase, a third of which was covered by the stair-lift, lugging my case (I am 66 with an arthritic knee) only to be asked when I had reached the top if I wanted help with my case! 2. NOT... More

We have recently got a dog and this was our first time in a dog friendly hotel. What a wonderful experience. Our room was very spacious as indeed was the bathroom with plenty of room for the 3 of us. John and his staff were very friendly and helpful and the bar and restaurant had a great ambiance. The bed... More

We had a great two night stay at the Hood Arms but what made it especially memorable was the welcome shown from the owner John to his guests but extended to his four legged guests as well. This place has such a warm and friendly feel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beds were heavenly!!
