Reviewed this pub before traveling between Rochester and Cornwall, what a lovely warm friendly place, quite busy large but still cosy, very tasty fresh food, will definitely return next time we're down that way.

Visited on a Friday lunchtime and the place was packed. The atmosphere is a little 'canteen-y' but ok. Two ordered steak which was good but didn't come with any veg or mushrooms (a big bugbear of one of our party). The triple cooked chips were amazing and the burger with smoked cheese and chips was also very good. On the... More

We had a warm welcome on arrival, our room on the first floor was comfortable, plenty of space. We were visiting family on a weekend trip, so didn't eat here, but the menus sound very tempting and if the excellent farmhouse breakfast is anything to go by, the restaurant should be good. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed - just... More

This is a nice friendly pub with rooms. We arrived to find the bar heaving with watching the rugby final and all obviously having a great time. Our room and ensuite were spacious, well equiped and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, I even got gluten free bread with my egg. Very friendly landlady.

Just back from a lovely 2 nights in this warm and friendly Inn. Chosen for location and good reviews - not disappointed! Followed the Wolf Hall locations at nearby NT Barrington Court and Montacute House :) Clean ground floor room with nice small touches. Best bits: friendly hosts and outstanding food. Thanks for your welcome! Highly recommended!

Stayed here for one night whilst on a business trip. First time here without my wife but as ever it was just perfect. Sarah and Paul are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble, they both work so hard. Food is beautiful, a great pint and friendly locals too. The rooms are large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Would recommend... More

Everything you would expect from a good 5 star hotel. Clean, tissues in the room, good quality toiletries, mineral water, lovely healthy breakfast with a good choice and good coffee and a second cup offered. I would definitely recommend. Much better than any other pub we have stayed in. We upgraded to the king size but still reasonable.

Went for a special occasion meal and it was fabulous. Gets a good local crowd in if you're up for a drink afterwards. I have no criticism of it whatsoever, but, wouldn't go with children or teenagers as the menu isn't suitable. Not a bad thing, just an observation.
