We were attending a wedding at St Audries Park and stayed at the Combe House Hotel a fortnight ago. The pictures that I saw on tripadvisor do not do the place any justice. The setting is absolutely georgeous. The drive up to the hotel is on a very scenic route. The village of Holford is also very pretty. Take care... more

We stayed one night here to unwind a bit. We wanted a comfy country hotel, not too far from Bristol, that served good food and had some good walks nearby. The hotel delivered on every front. On arrival, a small mix-up with our room booking was rectified without any fuss. We had a large and delicious lunch before stepping out... more

The hotel is in a quiet and beautiful location. A great base if you want to walk on the hills. The food is very good but a little "fussy" on presentation, that probably says more about our age than the carefully displayed evening dishes. We both enjoyed our stay and would hope to visit again. The waiting staff need a little more... more

We stayed here for our wedding night and occupied room 5. The room was well decorated, large and comfortable with a lovely view across the combe, however the noise of passing guests in the corridor was intrusive. Delicious breakfast but felt the extra £1 charge for an additional cup of coffee was outrageous given the cost of this hotel(unnecessary penny pinching) more

Being such a fan of this area I was nervous, when booking a hotel for myself & friends, that all we would find was a shabby guest house. I was so relieved when we pulled up to find this lovely building in such a peaceful setting. Upon checking in my boyfriend & were lucky enough to bag the outhouse suite,... more

We stayed here as we were at a wedding close by, we felt that the service was not very good and that the cost per night was not at all good value, the showers in all the rooms we were allocated were of poor standard and the restaurant food was average quality but overpriced. It has potential but there are... more

Travelled with the same group as the following listed review - totally contradictory reviews and sounds like they won't be travelling as a group again. 1/5 for service, implies inefficient and discourteous staff, something I am 100% confident they are not.

Arrived for one Saturday night stay recently . As sson as you leave the A39 and into the hotel's drive you can almost feel the calm and quietness of the place . We arrived at midday and were quickly and efficiently shown to our room . Decent size , not the largest bedroom we have stopped in but comfortable with... more

We were snowed in and others were snowed out. Consequently we were the only residents for 2 of our 3 nights (other hoteliers would have been seriously upset by the several cancellations but Gareth and Catherine seemed to take it in their stride). Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is in an idyllic, quiet location. The beautiful room was... more

We were a large party (about 16 of us in all) so we were expecting to have to wait a while for service, but it was exactly the opposite. We were served immediately and looked after throughout. The food was exquisite - in fact we insisted on thanking the chef personally afterwards. The surroundings are homely, with lots of character.... more
