I have to confess that we didn't stay here, but our friends from the Continent did. They said it was OK, but the plumbing was a bt temperamental. They kindly treated us to a meal, so we didn't like to grumble too much, but the food was pretty awful - my soup was tepid, the vegetarian risotto had the consistency... more

The review proceedure insists on a stay date but I cannot tell you what this hotel is like as they completely mismanaged my booking and instead of booking one double and one single, only booked one room. The suggestion was that as they were full, that they would book a room somewhere 'nearby. This would mean my daughter being in... more

Management response from

First of all, as new owners (Sep 2007), we're sorry if any of our guests don't enjoy their stay with us. There are many places to visit in the area - Longleat, Stourhead, Wells and of course Bath is just 20 minutes drive. However, many people stay with us because we are in the countryside, and we have a friendly...

Visited this inn for one night whilst travelling in Wessex. Friendly welcome from the staff and clean room. The room was in an annexe awy from the pub so was quiet although we did get wet going for breakfast. Good meal in the restaurant with good service. Breakfast was standard English breakfast, fine but not outstanding. A comfortable place to... more

Where do I start? I wanted to take my husband and our daughter and her husband away for a treat for my husband's birthday. I knew that Longleat was the way to go and so booked a Passport on line (Great Value!) and then the the hotel. I was disappointed from the start, poor reception, yes we did arrive at... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in Feb/Mar 2007. We had a room in "Jubilee Cottage", the new annexe. The room was fine, comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities, TV, hairdryer and a full size ironing board and iron. Only two small niggles with the room, the radiator in the bedroom did not work, though there was plenty of... more

Hotel room in annexe was small and tired and didn't offer value for money. Poor reception on arrival. Food in restaurant very good, service friendly but amateurish. Breakfast adequate only. Stayed there 14th Feb for one night. more

Just returned from a two night break at the full moon inn and loved it! Staff were extreemely helpful and friendly from the minute we arrived to the minute we left! We dined in the restaurant two nights running as the food was so nice and reasonably priced. Breakfast, which was included in the price of our stay was excellent.... more

We stayed for a couple of nights in June and had a room in the new annexe. It was very spacious and had nice glass doors opening to the garden- but no window and thus no ventilation at all on two hot June nights. There were also no lights, the only lighting was three very small bedside type lamps. The... more
