This hotel breaches every health and safety regulation going, broken electrical sockets taped up with masking tape, window cills none compliant with trip regulation height of 1100mm, carpets that obviously haven't been cleaned, dried food stuck on them, bathroom with black mould, fat smells, no fire escape details. They couldn't even cook a poached egg this hotel is seriously in... More

My husband and I have just had two nights at the Highcliffe Hotel, Clevedon. We had a large, spacious twin bed room with sea view. Having read some reviews was apprehensive. I always check mattress cleanliness wherever I stay. This passed 100%. Yes, the hotel is old, needs a bit if a facelift but the important things like cleanliness of... More

If you want smelly bed cloaths, tired, dated, in need of investment place to stay then stop here. Very dissapointed, not a clean place to stop, will not use again. This hotel needs money spent on it to bring it up to modern standards, it has not had attention for many years, and this was also reflected in the hygene... More

This is a rather sad old hotel that I now see other reviews describe as I would. It needs one heck of a lot of money spending on it. A real injection of professional hoteliers. Put it this way; the Hotel inspector would have a field day and this would definitely not pass the rigorous demands of the Four in... More

We stayed here for two nights in June when we attended a wedding. The previous reviewers are right when they say it's tired and needs a face lift. However, we found the room comfortable and clean. They provided a hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was a bit of a fiddle and the water was a... More

Booked here before reading the online and stupidly stayed AFTER reading them. All I can say is, thank goodness it was for only two nights and not longer. Great location; handy for town and the prom, beautiful vista from the rear sun terrace, but I'm afraid the compliments stop there. View the pics and make your own mind up!

On our way to visit family we stopped for a night in Clevedon. The Highcliffe sounded and looked lovely, but was in fact rather dilapidated with a very uncomfortable bed and a dreadfully poor shower. The staff were curt and no one asked if we had enjoyed our stay. We would not stay here again, although the town itself was... More

We were attending a wedding at Clevdon Hall, the money we saved on taxi fares compared to other members of our family who were staying elsewhere (Premier Inn) was a big plus, so if you deduct the £12 each way taxi fare that they paid from your hotel accommodation, it was great value for money. It was a 10/15 min... More

Just stayed at The Highcliffe hotel and found that the room we stayed in needed a good clean, I know its old but that does not excuse the fact that the underside of the bed has not seen a vacuum cleaner for sometime. The walls were grubby and needed a wash down to remove grime ,around the toilet flushing lever again... we live in clevedon but vacated our house so our daughter could have a "house party".we paid £65 for a double room with breakfast. we received a warm welcome, and our money was not taken until we left in the morning. The Highcliffe has a lovely view of the channel and my vegetarian breakfast was lush, but i struggle to say... More
