As an ex-pat still homesick for England and all things English, Hunstrete House gave me a massive dose of English country house; our junior double room had a four-poster bed and views out over the wintry English parkland with its herd of deer. We arrived late on Sunday morning for a mid-day wedding there, and had been warned that our... more

Beautiful setting with deer in the garden. Liked being able to drive the car up to the entrance and we were greeted and our bags were taken up to the room. Rooms called by birds names and were to an ok standard but would have expected better for the price. The bathroom needed renovating - very poor shower over bath... more

My other half and I enjoyed a three night stay at the Georgian mansion Hunstrete House. The staff were very helpful and friendly and will pretty much organise anything if you give them enough notice. Our room was spacious and had wonderful views of the grounds and Hunstrete estate's own herd of deer (they are so sweet you may feel... more

My boyfriend and I booked this very last minute and couldn't believe our luck when we arrived. The hotel is in a beautiful rural setting and has really lovely gardens. There is also a tennis court which is free to use (the hotel provides racquets and tennis balls). There is also a swimming pool although it is currently being refurbished... more

This was our first visit to Hunstrete House. A warm welcome and offer of tea after being shown to our room. It was like stepping back in time and although there was no internet link in the room, we appreciated that we were staying in a"country home" with historical roots and that it was all part of the charm. The... more

The location of this property is lovely, a little bit isolated (good thing), but a short drive to Bath. The staff were incredibly attentive and the food was excellent. The food options particularly at breakfast were fantastic, and dinner was very good, with possibly the best Souffle for desert we have tasted. They also had a tasting menu that looked... more

We stayed at Hunstrete House to finish off a long weekend staying in Bath in December. It was easy to find and we received a warm welcome from the grounds staff when we were parking up - this was even before we got out of the car! After a very quick check in we were led into the garden area... more

We have just come back from our stay at this wonderful hotel. All the staff made you feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and you were made too feel at home as soon as you arrived. The restaurant was rather expensive for our pockets but the quinessential menu that you could have... more

I loved this hotel. From being greeted and shown to my room, to the personal letter from the manager to welcome me, so the tea tray prepared and brought to my room on arrival and the rest of the attentive and friendly staff. I stayed at the hotel on a business trip. I had a beautiful room with views of... more
