At short notice I needed a hotel room in August for business. Luckily they had a room available at a reasonable cost for b&b. I walked from the train station, an easy 15 min walk. I dropped off my bags and they kept them in the office to save having to walk try yo work. They even checked see if... More

The hotel is a lovely building in the town Centre. We loved the second room they showed us after the first one was not made up. The bed comfortable if rather small but the shower and bath had no hot water. Breakfast was excellent

We googled the place because we needed somewhere to stay overnight on the way back from our holiday in the West Country. They were friendly on the phone, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we stepped in. It's a very old building - we spent a lot of time trying to work out which bits had been... More

I spent one night in room 16, the mattress should be in a skip, the springs have gone and you can feel every spring! There is a visible dip in the bed that should a strong hint that the mattress is no good. My sheet had holes in it and the lighting is so bad in the room you need... More

I spend too many business trips in the modern concrete egg crates run by the likes of Hilton, Travelodge, Radisson et al. Such hotels provide all the mod cons and you get what you pay for, which more or less amounts to comfortable storage. Places like the Tudor however have that indefinable and invaluable extra: Character. I was booked in... More

We stayed here for 1 night after a Christmas meal with friends. We have eaten here before and found the food very good. Service was friendly and efficient and we did not have to wait for long for our food despite being busy. We stayed in room 1 which was at the front of the hotel on the main road.... More

This traditional English hotel is situated in the centre of Bridgwater, an ideal position for excursions to the sights of northern Somerset, such as Chedder Gorge, Wells, Glastonbury, Cadbury, and the coast with its resorts Burnham-on-Sea, Lynmouth, Porlock, and Minehead. The hotel itself is as its name suggests an attractive Elizabethan building and with a winding maze of corridors which... More

This is a nice hotel for the price. Food is very good, and service excellent. However staying in rooms on street side can be noisy at night. Double glazing would help. The restaurant is a little bit dark and dingy, there's not a lot of daylight. For the price it is excellent, rooms are comfortable, on-suite bathrooms quite new .... More
