This place certainly deserves its 5-star rating. It is smart, warm and has superbly-appointed rooms. The bar and restaurant are great, with good choices, well cooked and presented by helpful and friendly staff. This place deserves to thrive and prosper.

stayed for a night in the the most expensive, but very fairly priced room, it had a comfortable bed, great shower and a bath next to the bed, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. the pub/resteraunt has a great atmosphere with reasonably priced but very nice food and drink, we wouldn't think twice about staying here again!

Recently moved from the area and The Bower Inn was our local for many years. Decided to spend the night for our anniversary as always received fantastic service and good food! Not disappointed, we had room 11 which has a slipper bath in the bedroom. Really nice room, very well presented, huge bathroom overall very impressed. Walked down the stairs... More

We stayed at the Bower Inn for two nights during the carnival weekend and didn't regret our choice for a second. During our journey to Somerset we got caught in traffic which meant that we were due to arrive after the restaurant had closed for the night. However, when we spoke to the fabulous staff at the hotel about this... More

We stayed at this b and b for the night of 23rd December 2015. We were travelling to Cornwall for Christmas and were recommended to this place by a friend. The Bower Inn is very nice indeed with a good restaurant and bar. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place as they also... More

Situated just off the M5 this pub with 17 rooms is an absolute gem. We arrived well before takeover time but the owners made every effort to speed up the cleaning and made our room available after only a short wait. The rooms are well equipped particularly those in the new wing. Really pleasant for short or longer stay. The... More

Beautiful rooms with a fantastic service level particularly from the younger staff! Great food - even if all I had was a sandwich. Take HDMI lead with you for your laptop as you can connect directly to the TV which is a bonus - shame they don't mention this in advance or supply them. A little expensive for a B... More

It should be noted that we consider ourselves, - with 16 high quality bedrooms, a large restaurant open 7 days a week, a manned reception, a team of 22 and parking for 40 cars - more of a small hotel, hence our pricing. We also encourage our guests to make use of all our facilities, thus getting fantastic value for... More

We booked for lunch for a Christmas Catch Up. When I phoned to make the booking I asked the lady if she did a late booking as one of the party was working and was told that as long as we had the food order in by 2:30pm it would be OK. Ordered food at 2:15 and at 2:30 the... More

Such an unfortunate incident. Yes, we close the bar around 3 pm most lunchtimes - 4 pm Sundays, we have done for over 5 years. However, this should not mean an end to our service and I would not have wanted anyone to feel they had to wrap their lunch up quickly just because the bar has closed. Certainly we... More
