Stayed here overnight on our way to Cornwall. Found very easily, parking available and we paid £7.50 to reserve a space. Our room was a family suite, comprising a lounge area with a single bed, separate bedroom with double and single beds, a dressing room and bathroom. Very old building so everything was a little wonky but this just added... More

Fairly old-fashioned but what's not to like? Spacious room and everything clean. Really good breakfast with proper field mushrooms (a benchmark) and friendly, accommodating service. Lovely garden and excellent location. Brilliant view of church across the road. Not for people who want trendy or 'corporate'. Definitely for those who want reality and character. Not excellent as pillows need updating but... More

Really happy to give praise for the old vicarage, the breakfast was excellent, the Somerset room large with a great and comfy bed, excellent service from the young man who was the manager, who worked extreemly hard to make our stay a pleasure ,and suceeded good view across the to the church, and not noisy at all. could not say... This is the second time I have stayed at The Old Vicarage and I had another enjoyable stay. The property is full of character, breakfast cooked fresh and plentiful, the team are very friendly and accommodating. I will stay again if down in Bridgwater again.

I booked the hotel through Booking.com for a 1 night stay on the 11/8/14. Its an old building which I can make exceptions for, but the standard is appalling. The room was filthy. Stains on walls, cobwebs on walls, carpet covered in "spots", mattress was old and tired. The room (downstairs, opposite reception) was incredibly noisy, the room above sounded... More

Lovely old building. Lovely staff. The room was dated and a bit pokey but what would you expect in such an old place? Clean. No laundry facilities for international travellers and that is very disappointing .. We need to refresh our clothes at every opportunity and the UK doesn't offer many. Nice though.

We spent a weekend getaway from children and life in general. We stayed in the Somerset Room - very big, four poster bed.Overlooks the church on oneside and the garden on the other. Some noise from late night revellers on the Saturday night but in the centre of town what do you expect? Excellent breakfast including a "build your own"... More

Stopped over for one night on the way back from Cornwall. The town has seen better days and this can also be said of the Hotel. That said the (only) one member of staff that we saw during our visit -and seemed to be the Jack of all trades- was as helpful as could be and in essence made our... More

Situated well in the middle of town. Arrived very late and the only people in the restaurant - however, that didnt matter as the Manager - David provided an excellent and personable service and the food was great! Equally so for breakfast the following morning, freshly cooked and a choice of cereals, fruit juice etc. The hotel is very old... More

This was a birthday surprise so I had no idea where I was going. To say I was pleased would be an understatement. We had The Somerset Room -a huge room with a four poster and sofa. Very comfortable room. Good night's sleep. What we saw of the hotel itself was good - very old and quirky. Breakfast was lovely.... More
