Stopped over for one night on the way back from Cornwall. The town has seen better days and this can also be said of the Hotel. That said the (only) one member of staff that we saw during our visit -and seemed to be the Jack of all trades- was as helpful as could be and in essence made our... More

Situated well in the middle of town. Arrived very late and the only people in the restaurant - however, that didnt matter as the Manager - David provided an excellent and personable service and the food was great! Equally so for breakfast the following morning, freshly cooked and a choice of cereals, fruit juice etc. The hotel is very old... More

This was a birthday surprise so I had no idea where I was going. To say I was pleased would be an understatement. We had The Somerset Room -a huge room with a four poster and sofa. Very comfortable room. Good night's sleep. What we saw of the hotel itself was good - very old and quirky. Breakfast was lovely.... More

The location is perfect - right in the middle of town, with parking and quiet enough to ensure a good night's sleep. It's a beautiful old building, although our room was across the courtyard from the main building. The room was adequate for one night as it was quite small - not enough room even for a chair. Breakfast was... More

Historic hotel, wonky floors, stairs and doors. Well appointed, ticking many boxes. Unfortunately it is in Bridgwater, a town that has seen better days. Hopefully the advent of the nuclear plant gives it a lift; literally.

My wife I stayed one night in the four poster room and have to say it was a most pleasant experience, if in Bridgwater again I would, definitely use this hotel. The staff were most helpful and the historic building is lovely.

This is a review of two half's. First if you love old rustic buildings that are full of character then this is definitely a place that will appeal. Second if you like a quiet modern hotel where you cannot hear the floor boards creek as the other guests move around, then this is probably best avoided. For me I am... More

Stayed here in the four poster room which is beautiful. Really cant say enough good about it. Like travelling back in time. The room was spacious, warm and spotless. The breakfast was really good too. Its worth the little extra to stay in this room around £95.00 per night with breakfast for two. Brilliant.

Stayed in this place for one night whilst away on business. Was a little traumatic at first as I couldn't quite find it. When I eventually did, I couldn't find anywhere to park and then scraped my car trying to get into the very small entrance for the car park. I then rang the hotel to ask for their advice... More
