Useful in that it is just off the motorway, and we used it to meet colleagues. However car park scrapes the bottom off anything that doesn't have 4x4 height, the speed bumps are serious! Service was reasonable, food wasn't about to poison you, but was what I'd call old school pub food, unfortunately most others have moved on and it... More

We booked an overnight stay at the Boat and Anchor Inn on a return journey from St Ives , I was charged £78:00 for a double room , no breakfast . On entering the car park my car bottomed on the speed ramp (BMW 320 ) so when I could not find anyone in reception I went to the bar... More

Very comfortable recently refurbished accommodation, excellent for a one night stay on the way down to Plymouth. Not very quiet as the motorway is adjacent. The rooms seem to be of a high standard the way they are refurbishing them. It is quite a noisy pub and the food is very average and the drinks expensive. The downstairs area still... More

I absolutely loved my short stay. Pub is undergoing refurbishment and judging by our room it will be to a high standard. Its a bit work in progress and a few finishing touches will make it perfect The meal was really nice I thoroughly enjoyed the special rack of lamb with roast potatoes and fresh veg followed by lovely apple pie... This was a literally last minute booking made from my phone when i realised i could not drive any further to Cornwall that night. Mike was very obliging and waited up for me with no trace of bad face at all! Quite hard to find in the dark, but actually very handy to the M5. The place Is clearly getting... More

had a meal here. the food wasn't bad but not amazing either. the bar maid was very moody and unwelcoming. i have no urge to return here again. on the good side the beer garden was nice and in a good setting right by the canal

Was going to stop the night & have a rest from traveling, decided to have a beer while we negotiated a room price, ordered two pints & my eyes nearly fell out when she told me how much they cost, £4.50 a pint!!!!! Needles to say we jumped back in the motor and found accommodation elsewhere!!'

5 minutes off the M5 - had overnight stay on travel home from Plymouth. Would definitely go again. Rooms were excellent with tv, tea/coffee making facilities, free wifi, very comfortable bed with good quality bedding. Immaculate shower bathroom. Food was excellent with good portion sizes. Staff very welcoming and give excellent service.

This is our second time of staying here and the refurbishments to the rooms are great. The staff are friendly and knowlegable and were more than helpful with whatever was requested. The food in the restaurant was good and hearty fare. Breakfasts were enough to set you up for the day. With the fine weather we are able to use... More

Nice canalside setting but the M5 is very close. Room was ok but the new en-suite needed some snagging. Decent restaurant , breakfast good, evening meals ok. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
