I stopped here overnight, on a Thursday night, to break up the drive to Cornwall. I was expecting a vibrant pub atmosphere, and cosy rooms. There were only a few locals in the bar when I arrived, but the staff were welcoming and friendly. The local brew, Moles, was excellent, and I had an undisturbed hour in a corner of... More

Called for lunch having been here befrore many years ago. This place used to be buzzing and booking was all but essential, but no longer. Despite being a nice day weather-wise, there were less than a dozen people, and although the conservatory which is relatively new is light and airy, it does lack any character. Food was okay, no complaints,... More

A warm welcome was awaiting our arrival at 10pm. We were shown to our very comfortable warm room. All very clean, TV, Bathroom and tea making facilities available. An Early breakfast was required this was not a problem. Easy access from junction 24. The only word of warning is don't use your sat nav. We would visit again.

Sunday carvery tried here. Although limited in choice we were pleasantly surprised with the friendly service we received. The food was freshly cooked, hot and tasty. I am sure if they had the footfall visiting for lunch then they have the space and potential to become a very popular venue. No hesitation in returning

Stayed for one night to see the spectacular carnival and couldn't have felt more welcome! Very friendly staff who offered to help arrange taxis although we discovered that walking down the canal only takes half an hour anyway! Definitely recommend it! Big thank you and a special hug to my favourite sausage dog!

Great place to stay. Really friendly staff making you feel welcome. Good food and drink with a variety of choice also for the vegetarian. The rooms are nice and basic, above average compared to the rooms I've stayed in with my work taking me all over the UK.

Its a basic place, the rooms were basic and a little unkept but nice. The staff were polite. The food was okay. It is right by the motorway and a railway but this didnt disturb any of us. Overall it gave us a place to stay and there was nothing overly bad about it but we probably wouldn't choose it... More

We stayed at this hotel 2 weeks ago. The main reason for our visit was to break our journey. The location was ideal for this as it is just minutes off the motorway. Our dinner was good - one had had steak and the other lamb shank. Both well cooked and very tasty. Breakfast was adequate but not brilliant. Staff were... More
