This location offers good value for money accommodation. The rooms are fine and some have balconies with a great view of the Somerset countryside. Breakfast is not until 08:30 so not great if you are working rather than on vacation. All in all perfectly acceptable with hood food selection in bar

The restaurant is clearly the strength of this place - excellent evening meals and lunches and realistic prices - but it is also a nice place to stay for one/two nights being very handy for the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury etc. Some reviews mention that the residential part looks a little tired but refurbishments were taking place whilst we were there... Stay was nice and the room was very clean, however I am confused as to why a restaurant that was supposedly excellent, was unwilling to poach an egg for our breakfast. Despite this we would stay again and most likely recommend to others.

The hotel rooms are small but clean. Some have a balcony. The view is lovely. Wifi does not work in the breakfast room. Breakfast is from 8-9 only and the food is ok. Limited vegetarian option, with no desire to assist with a non pizza main in request meant traveling to street both nights for dinner. The kitchen is under... More

I can see that a while ago this place was potentially nice, but unfortunately it has fallen into some disrepair, with various things broken or showing signs of needing replacing (duvet cover, loo door handle, etc, etc etc). The automatic hall lighting was ridiculous, turning off before you could even get a key in the door which was very annoying... More

I arrived late in the evening and went to check in. The young lady who greated me was friendly and although it was late offered to ask kitchen to make food for me if I wanted them to. I didn't but the thought was appreciated. She showed me to my room which was perfectly adequate and then I went to... More

We had been here many years ago and promised to never go back however new owner so though we would give it a go. We travel to Somerset very often, well where do I start... we were met by the owner who was very pleasant and obviously spent a lot of money refurbishing. Info given about his girlfriend was not needed... More

we didn't stay there and i don't think we would. it looked like a nice place and could tell it was going to be expensive. i was right. the food was lovely (what they had, they didn't have our first choice as apparantly they had been too busy and ran out) but the service was a bit miserable and it... Room clean and comfortable with great views. Very unhelpful, unfriendly staff in a situation where our family group of 14 staying at the hotel, were left with nothing to eat on friday night due to a kitchen malfunction. Had to beg to buy a drink at the bar at 9pm, having travelled all day from abroad. Very noisy repair work... More

I don't know what to say, it was like fawlty towers. I'll start with the good points - room was nice ish. Bathroom a bit travelodgy, fine. Just let down by very rude, surly staff. I don't really want a cup full of your anger at breakfast thank you, just all got so personal and horrible. Good luck with your... More
