I can see that a while ago this place was potentially nice, but unfortunately it has fallen into some disrepair, with various things broken or showing signs of needing replacing (duvet cover, loo door handle, etc, etc etc). The automatic hall lighting was ridiculous, turning off before you could even get a key in the door which was very annoying... More

I arrived late in the evening and went to check in. The young lady who greated me was friendly and although it was late offered to ask kitchen to make food for me if I wanted them to. I didn't but the thought was appreciated. She showed me to my room which was perfectly adequate and then I went to... More

We had been here many years ago and promised to never go back however new owner so though we would give it a go. We travel to Somerset very often, well where do I start... we were met by the owner who was very pleasant and obviously spent a lot of money refurbishing. Info given about his girlfriend was not needed... More

we didn't stay there and i don't think we would. it looked like a nice place and could tell it was going to be expensive. i was right. the food was lovely (what they had, they didn't have our first choice as apparantly they had been too busy and ran out) but the service was a bit miserable and it... Room clean and comfortable with great views. Very unhelpful, unfriendly staff in a situation where our family group of 14 staying at the hotel, were left with nothing to eat on friday night due to a kitchen malfunction. Had to beg to buy a drink at the bar at 9pm, having travelled all day from abroad. Very noisy repair work... More

I don't know what to say, it was like fawlty towers. I'll start with the good points - room was nice ish. Bathroom a bit travelodgy, fine. Just let down by very rude, surly staff. I don't really want a cup full of your anger at breakfast thank you, just all got so personal and horrible. Good luck with your... More

15 members of our family stayed here over a family wedding and we were greeted with OK service for drinks they then said that the fan was broken so we could have our food 30 minutes after it was fixed and there was no guarantee it would be so they said we couldn't help so we had to make an... More

Although the rooms are a bit small, this small family run hotel offers excellent comfort, personal and courteous service, the most excellent cuisine and beautiful surroundings all wrapped up in a fair price package for any couple looking to get away from the noise, yet still be within a short driving distance of shops and other popular amenities. I would... More

Once again we have had an excellant meal. Pork and beef so tender it melted in your mouth, great variety of fresh local vegetables. Cherry cheese cake was gorgeous. Worth every penny. The staff are so welcoming and nothing is to much trouble for them even though we had not booked. We sat on the patio with fabulous views over... More

Having just returned from a week at The Olive Mill I am still reflecting on the experience. The curtain rail fell down every morning; the shower hose managed to choke itself of water for two days, the breakfast service is unusually late - 8 am start and they ran out of ice, ice cream and one lager. However, the food... More
