We were here for a family dinner and overnight stay. Let's begin with my starter of three rubbery microwave scallops. The other starters look equally dreary and unapetising. However these were delicious in comparison to the mains which comprised of cold undercooked steaks without any veg or sauce (apparently sauce is extra and only if you ask for it!) an... more

The hotel was being refurbished but there was no disturbance and our bedroom had been done and was very smart, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was almost perfect. However the bedroom was up a step from the bathroom and a small hallway and had no heating apart from a radiator in that hallway. Despite it being exceptionally mild November weather,... more

We had booked in for an overnight stay before we became aware of previous reviews. Luckily we decided to stick with our arrangements. After checking in we went to our room trying to identify the smell which was a feature of previous reports. No smell. Our room, which admittedly was an executive room, was delightful. Newly furnished with lovely views towards... more

On arrival, It looked pleasent and the gardens and surrounding's were lovely. However on entering the hotel, it hit me on how basic the hotel is. The service is limited and no-one on reception. Service was pleasent and very helpful, however the whole building is in need of refub. Room was o.k but needs updating. Funny smell everywhere in the... more

Stayed one night only as my usual hotel was booked up and that was long enough for me. Poor if non existent reception, I counted only 3 staff covering all hotel duties, very basic all through, the smallest room & bathroom I have ever seen. Bathroom something from the 70's and to be avoided/used very quickly, corridors dark, carpet dirty... more

My husband and I stayed at this Hotel in October 2006. What a delightful experience. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them. As for the food, every meal was a gastronic experience, really superb. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean, fresh towels supplied daily. Unfortunately there was just one problem, the cigarette smoke from the... more
