A lovely hotel and gardens with great attention to detail. Good food - great location right next to the Knoll which walks off the dinner and full english breakfast. Nice rooms - large bath, tollettries , even an illuminated alarm clock for checking the time during the night. Lovely hosts - nothing too much trouble. Definately stay again .

It isn't the smartest of hotels, but the service certainly makes up for it. The best smoked salmon and scrambled eggs I have had apart from at Rick Stein's. The seven course taster menu is excellent. If you are staying two nights, you probably won't want to eat the same menu the second night, but locally there is a good... More

We went with friends on a travel zoo booked voucher for an overnight stay including the 7 course taster meal. The service and food were excellent and the hotel is tastefully decorated and maintained to a high standard. These people really care about service and it's well worth a visit.

We stayed one night as part of a deal which included cream tea, 7 course tasting menu and breakfast the next morning. We were a bit early arriving but Paul was happy to check us in and show us the place. Our room was lovely and had a four poster bed. It was so quiet and we had everything we... More

We had an excellent stay at this beautiful hotel, with a very warm welcome from the owners, Pau and Sarah, who are a delight. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is very tastefully refurbished and the attention to detail is excellent. Our room was both extremely clean and very comfortable as well as being so peaceful! The... More

We stayed for one night booked through Travelzoo for the 7 course tasting menu and bed and breakfast package. It was great fun and great service. We opted to pay extra for the wine tasting experience and this was excellent. We especially enjoyed the background info of each wine. This is a delightful character hotel in a lovely peaceful setting.... More

We arrived, warmly welcomed, shown to our room. Spacious, airy, clean and comfortable. Nice little touches in the room regarding decor and a decanter for a glass of sherry each if you so desire. Next a cream tea on the terrace surrounded by trees and countryside. A drink at the bar, a very relxing room with Chesterfields. Then the 7... More

We wanted somewhere to stay on route to Devon and we chose Woodlands based on other reviews and location to M5. In a lovely rural setting the hotel sits beautifully overlooking stunning scenery. We were welcomed into the Hotel and shown to our room. Bit on the small size and a very small television but wonderful firm mattress and fabulous... More

I went there for a work conference and stayed over the night before. The plus side of the place is that it is a beautiful setting. The view from my room was stunning and the rooms had what was required (every a decanter of sherry!). It had an extremely 'homely' feel to it, with the lounge being full of books,... More

We appreciate the positive comments from this guest. We would like to respond to the comments on our conferencing facilities as follows: •The conference organiser orders the food and if they choose the cheapest sandwich option then that is what we provide.
