Had a wonderful visit to this hotel by the lake. The room we had was very comfortable with a view of the lake through a round window.bathroom was very clean with good sized towels. The dining experience was excellent too with friendly staff. We came for a rest in a beautiful setting and our wishes were granted. We will come... More

I love the setting of Tyn y cornel Hotel. Years ago it was a great place to stay or stop for a meal. It has gone down hill really badly but we still call in occasionally , in hope of finding that it has improved. Last week we went there for lunch and the hotel was closed. Someone arrived who... We had sandwiches and drinks, delicious and well presented by pleasant staff. A restaurant/ lounge area with incredible views by the lake. Peaceful setting and very well presented hotel. A great stop. Also they offer fishing tickets for the lake.

Set in a lovely location, yet so disappointing once inside on several counts; we had booked a lake view room but were given a tired bedroom overlooking a flat roof. I was told that if we were out late the hotel would be locked yet a fire escape door round the back in the dark would be open! We did... More

Stunning location and friendly staff but that's as good as it gets. The room had a window overlooking the amazing view of the lake but we could not see it due to the condensation in the double glazing and the dirt on the outside of the window. The window was also covered in cobwebs and we had to remove several... More

We should have read the reviews before we booked this rather shabby hotel and general experience. Whilst they were helpful with recommending a place to eat (as we were arriving after 8pm) when we finally arrived in our room, it smelled musty and the first thing I had to do was to clean the toilet! I also 'swept' the floor... More

The whole place felt like it was dying on it's feet. We booked a disabled friendly room but so many things were wrong with it. The main lights in both the bedroom and wetroom were not working. the toilet seat was broken and the flush handle did not work properly and a plastic garden chair is not a good seat... More

All the other reviews about this place do not lie. It is no where near the lovely place it used to be. When we arrived the whole place was in darkness & we thought it was closed. The gardens are full of weeds totally unkempt & the inside of the hotel& the rooms are the same - unloved. The owners... More

En route to North Wales we decided to add a night at the Tyn y Cornel. 20 years ago I stayed regularly for work. We weren't disappointed. very warm welcome, comfortable well appointed room, excellent meal and very attentive staff. Even the dogs gave us the best doggy hello. And the views are STUNNING REGARDLESS OF WEATHER.

I have been visiting this area for many years now, and although have never stayed at the hotel I often have a passing drink as well as fishing the lake a lot. We stopped for a days fishing the other weekend and found that the previous ghillie who was very helpful & knowledgeable had been let go. The boats were... More
