I apologise for the delay in posting this but it has taken me several attempts to create a profile on here as I am not the most computer literate of person! I have finally joined Trip Advisor so I can warn others what to truly expect at the Tynycornel Hotel following the torrid time me and my wife experienced a... More

Following the B4405 north east from Abergynolwyn (after a visit to the scenic ruin of Castell Y Bere), we were heading for the Cross Foxes Inn where the A487 meets the A470. At Tal-y-llyn, on the southern shore of Llyn Mwyngil, we spotted the Tyn-Y-Cornel Hotel and decided to stop on impulse to see if they could fit four of... More

This must be one of the most beautiful locations in Wales. We stayed for two nights in one of the best rooms in the hotel overlooking the lake with a terrace outside. The room is very generous in size, the bathroom also large with a lovely bath and a separate shower and even a mist free mirror. The bed was... More

We arrived for a 2 day break away having had a very challenging year healthwise. The location is beautiful in fact stunning, BUT the hotel is unacceptable. We were shown our room by a pleasant young man, we were told the owner was out. We decided to have a rest and pulled back the cover to find a dirty bed... More

My husband and I stayed in this hotel as my husband was taking part in a bicycle race in abderdovey.Upon arrival, the scenery was absolutely fantastic and this hotel from the outside looked lovely.Upon checking in ,we were greeted by a middle aged woman who stated ' I didn't realize ye had one of those' referring to my beautiful 4month son.When... The place is in TIRED, it is in need of serious investment. There are plenty of attractions within easy reach of this location, but due to the attitude/atmosphere in the establishment the owners are not making the most of what is available on their doorstep. With the attitude of the owners "Lady of the Lake & Basil Fawlty" at each... More

Beautiful Location and pleasant grounds that would have been even better had the weather matched. Inside the hotel the public rooms were pleasantly decorated and clean. Breakfasts were good with plenty of choice to suit most tastes Our room was in the older part and was large with a good view across the lake and even though overlooking the road... More

There are many reviews of this hotel and I read a lot of them before my visit here. I believe that the experience of this hotel will vary depending on what you are looking for and what things are most important to your party. We booked fairly late in the day at the height of the season and our needs... More
