The whole place felt like it was dying on it's feet. We booked a disabled friendly room but so many things were wrong with it. The main lights in both the bedroom and wetroom were not working. the toilet seat was broken and the flush handle did not work properly and a plastic garden chair is not a good seat... More

All the other reviews about this place do not lie. It is no where near the lovely place it used to be. When we arrived the whole place was in darkness & we thought it was closed. The gardens are full of weeds totally unkempt & the inside of the hotel& the rooms are the same - unloved. The owners... More

En route to North Wales we decided to add a night at the Tyn y Cornel. 20 years ago I stayed regularly for work. We weren't disappointed. very warm welcome, comfortable well appointed room, excellent meal and very attentive staff. Even the dogs gave us the best doggy hello. And the views are STUNNING REGARDLESS OF WEATHER.

I have been visiting this area for many years now, and although have never stayed at the hotel I often have a passing drink as well as fishing the lake a lot. We stopped for a days fishing the other weekend and found that the previous ghillie who was very helpful & knowledgeable had been let go. The boats were... More

I suppose I should have been concerned that it took many phone calls to try and book here before one was finally answered. I was promoted to stay by the hotel’s website which stated that the place was ‘known for its friendly Welsh atmosphere and that it had been extensively refurbished and rooms are equipped to a four star standard’.... For: Great views of the lake, freindly helpful staff. Against: Rooms are bit tired, disappointing Breakfast, Hotel Dog bites (biting the hand that feeds it:) The vegetarian breakfast is a normal breakfast with the sausages & bacon removed, but nothing added. Maybe they could add some vegetarian sausages, fried bread or potato fritters, etc? Not cheap at £70 for a... More

Arriving midday we were told 'no food today , Chef not in Monday and Tuesday . 'Not a good start and no improvement during the two nights of our stay . Trout fishing which used to be excellent neglected ,and boat man discharged . Idyllic surroundings . Found the management very unwelcoming. Next time will concider the Vicarage on the... More

We booked in T'yn y Cornel Hotel during the Easter break. We let the landlady know that we will like a room with a view because my partner had birthday. The landlady had unpredictable moods. She was like a mother dearest. She could snap at you one morning. Then she apologised the next moment for 'being short' as she put... More

We stayed here bank holiday weekend whilst volunteering on the local steam railway. Hotel was very good our room looked out over the oak towards caeder idris. The proprietors made both us and the dog feel welcome. For evening meal on Saturday I had the biggest piece of cod I have ever seen and Sunday we both had roast which... More

We came here for the Easter Weekend and my Birthday to get a away and relax. We had a very warm welcome and the owners seemed very nice and chatty. Breakfast and dinner was nice.
