I came across the Old Rectory by the Lake whilst searching the web for accommodation which would take us and our dog. There was a review by a guy called Adam which I thought was fantastic-very informative and very well put together! The photos really captured the idylic setting which the Old Rectory on the Lake is located in. The accommodation... More

You are right, Adam's video posting on Trip advisor is good and we think truly captures the area and what we try and offer here at The Old Rectory on the lake. He is home in Hungary at the moment but I will pass on your very kind comments! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in The Retreat... More

Just returned from The Old Rectory on the lake and yet again it did not disappoint. In fact it just gets better. John, Ricky and Idris have now been joined by another follower, Marian the sheep. She was very friendly and docile and is so lucky to live in such an amazing luxurious location. We look forward to seeing all... More

From the (very late) moment we arrived, to our sad departure, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment we spent at the Old Rectory. The location is magnificent, the property itself is gorgeous and extremely well maintained, tastefully renovated and kept perfectly clean. Our room was lovely, the food we had was delicious and the hot tub is a wonderful bonus! Our hosts... More

We have visited twice, and are sure to be back many more times. The Old Rectory House is perfectly located, nestled below the mountains on a beautiful lake. The views are never the same, but always spectacular. The room we stayed in is very comfortable, the bathroom sheer luxury. We've eaten in most nights, and the food has been consistently... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the two nights that we spent at the Old Rectory on the Lake. The setting is idyllic. I particularly liked being served breakfast in the morning in the conservatory and watching the sheep being served theirs in a field across the lake (bet it wasn't as good as mine, though)! We stayed in the Rectory Retreat and felt... More

So pleased that you enjoyed your time with us so much. I am amused that you liked watching the sheep opposite eating their breakfasts while you enjoyed yours - mercifully they cannot see into the Orangery at night to see our guests tucking into Welsh lamb shanks! You say Trip Advisor pictures do not do the Rectory Retreat justice -... More

Our first visit here was in October 2007 before moving to West Wales (about an hour away from Talyllyn). We've been my parents for a 'special' birthday treat for my Mum, and I've been here a few times for work meetings as well. This was an anniversary trip and we wanted to bring our dog, Tegan the Border Collie along,... More
