Dolffanog Fawr is the best guest house we have ever stayed in. We first discovered it 13 years ago when Alex and Lorraine first took over and we have been visiting it on a regular basis ever since. The guest house sits beside the lovely Tal-y-llyn lake and from the back garden rises the grandeur of Cadair Idris mountain. Alex... More

My wife and i have just had a weekend here which was a surprise weekend away organised by our daughter and son to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, so we had no idea what to expect as we were arriving 'blind' . The hotel is situated in a stunning part of the Welsh countryside and within easy reach of the... More

We stayed 3 nights in Wnion. Lovely clean room, with great views. Enjoyed the communal dining - met some really nice people and had interesting conversations. Food was very good and hosts very helpful. Perfect place for exploring a lovely area.

The b&b is situated in a beautiful setting, with the garden looking over gorgeous views of the surrounding hills and lake. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and even some little bonios for our dog which was a lovely touch. The room was very comfortable, decorated really well and had a lovely window seat to sit and enjoy the... More

The room was lovely and we loved the small touches like the doggy treats. Breakfast was excellent as were the hosts. The lake is a stones throw away and the... More

Perfect hospitality, accommodation was of a high standard, lovely food, brilliant wine list, perfect location for Cadair Idris, yet quieter than most of the national park. Hot tub a bonus. We loved it and will return as soon as we can. Thanks Lorraine, Alex and Morgan.

I first stayed at DFF about 10 years ago, it was brilliant then and it is brilliant now. Alex and Lorraine just know how to look after their guests and run a small hotel. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the place. I love it.

This place is truly special. Alex and Lorraine are wonderful people and Lorraine is an amazing chef! We came for a pre wedding anniversary getaway, with the intention of heading to climb Snowdon. Alex, being an adventurous man, put us off saying it's pretty commercialised and if we want to climb a beautiful mountain to climb Cadair Idris, which is... More
