Booked a room here to as attending a 'do 'locally and wanted to be withing walking distance. Website makes rooms look quite stylish as they have only recently been done up. However cream paint and carpets don't cover up the lack of wall preparation underneath in this Victorian building and marks are already showing. Badly on wall in restaurant/breakfast room.
I was expecting some street noise so took earplugs but was surprised they had not bothered with double glazing. This meant there was condensation on the windows in the morning and I imagine there would be ice in cold weather. The double bed was tiny- 4ft 6 I think and no nice cosy duvets- horrid sheet and blanket.
Bathroom was nice and clean with big bath and shower over but not much space to put washbag etc.
Staff friendly enough but very laid back and not very well organised.
