We just stayed for one night, but super friendly staff and owners. They seemed genuinely keen to make us feel at home, without being overbearing. It is also in an idyllic spot - beautiful and quiet and relaxing. The atmosphere is homely and our room was very comfortable and modern. It made a wonderful impression.

This is a fantastic hotel. The food is excellent, the staff wonderful. We loved our room. It is a lovely old fashion hotel, the way I like them. The owners are a lovely couple. Have aloof at their website and judge for yourselves. http://www.peny.co.uk It is a good 250 miles for us from East Sussex. We wouldn't normally travel that... More

If you want a fancy modern country house hotel, don't come here. But if you want a friendly, relaxed, slightly olds-worldly hotel in a stunning location, then this is for you. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. The tables at dinner are a little too close together, but the dinner menu is good and there is a very reasonably... More

Two night dinner/B&B break staying in Number one Coach House. Nice room, good bed, excellent shower and spa bath. Emma leads a splendid team offering friendly, knowledgeable service. Food quality and preparation very good, although second breakfast a little dissappointing being overcooked. Wines a touch over priced. Location stunning. Overall there is a sense that the owners/management know exactly how... More

We have stayed at some big hotels and some not so big ones and this has been the best for service cleanliness and a friendly country atmosphere. Want to go walking then no problem just step outside the door and go walkabout. Want some good driving then even better. Excellent food and wine available with wonderful service. We had a... More

It's been two years since I've been to Pen-y-Dyffryn Country Hotel and finally I manage to go back to this wonderful place. Nothing change since last time and I'm glad for that. Once you open the door you're greeted by a beautiful smile, warm scones and tea. This time we stay in the champagne room in the main building, large... More

The hotel is situated in beautiful countryside with an abundance of fantastic walks on the door step, the view from our room in the coach house was delightful, the gardens and house are beautifully kept. We took our little dogs and we've had a fabulous stay, they were worn out with the walking. Diner and breakfast were highlights, our four... More

This country house hotel is only three miles from the busy market town of Oswestry, but it might as well be in a different world. Surrounded by farmland and woodland in the rolling landscape of the Welsh borders, it provides a tranquil refuge in a setting which has probably changed very little since this former rectory was built in the... This hotel seems the epitome of rural England's loveliness. If it were 100 yards west it would be Welsh loveliness. We had a room up the garden above the main house with beautiful views to the west so we could have our labrador with us . Pen-y-Dyffryn is set in very beautiful countryside with lots of very good walks in all... More

This is our second visit and it never dissapoints. The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The Chef produces outstanding meals which you really look forward to in the evening. Should go on Master Chef. You really do feel relaxed and I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family. Worth a visit......
