a lovely cosy and comfortable hotel. Very friendly staff, very thoughtful little touches. Amazing food and service. Lovely situation in Shropshire but close to Welsh border. Would certainly reccomend this hotel.

Where do I start? My husband and I have just returned from a four day break with old friends - a party of fourteen. The hotel and staff are so welcoming and can not do enough to help you. On arrival we were given tea and scones which was just what we wanted after a long and difficult journey. Each... More

This hotel is delightful and is a destination in itself, despite being situated in the most stunning scenery on the Welsh Borders. It has luxury with a relaxed atmosphere and being very dog friendly was a bonus. We were greeted by very friendly staff with good knowledge of the area and our stay just got better and better. The rooms... More

Thanks for your nice comments, in particular about the food. Trouble with Michelin stars is managing expectations, and we prefer to match or exceed them, rather then the opposite. Hope to see you again soon! Regards Miles More

We have been visiting Pen y Dyffryn for dinner for many years and always had an excellent meal. We had promised ourselves to stay overnight sometime, and take our dog with us, despite living within 10 miles of the hotel. At last we made it last weekend to celebrate our recent anniversary. The quality of the meal was as we... More

Glad you could come and see us again. Happy repeat customers are the best accolade we can receive. I will pass on your nice comments about the food to our chefs, and we hope to see you again before too long. Warm regards Miles More

A perfect hotel for a quiet getaway: great location especially for walkers, comfortable and well decorated rooms, delicious and varied menu, warm log fires, friendly, helpful and very efficient staff. Enormous attention has been paid to details-recommendations for daily activities, reliable walk descriptions, borrowable maps, free and working wifi and so forth. My only reservation would be about the piped... More

Glad you liked the local walks. We're lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world and to share it with our guests. We get comments both ways about playing discreet background music - some like it, some don't. So we only play it during dinner, and very quietly - and we turn it off someone asks us... More

On arriving you have the best of service ! The smell of both coal & wood fires is the best invitation yet ! A great weekend, food, service & relaxation is a must - that is what we receive, If only we had more time to stay longer. YES, we will be back.

Perfectly located for walkers . Arrived in the snow to a very warm welcome . Fires burning in the lounges and a relaxed ambience . There are recommended walks for all levels in a folder ready for your perusal . The bedroom was in the main house, and was delightful . Clean warm and comfortable . Service was excellent, as... My husband and I went to Pen-y-dyffryn for our valentines meal. We've been meaning to give it a go for a a while now as we only live down the road. It really did live up to expectations. The food was wonderful and the decor was truly beautiful. Out of the three local 'high end' restaurants in the Oswestry area... More

We stayed here for two nights in the coach house. The room was lovely and cosy. We had breakfast on two mornings which was delicious and two evening meals which were also wonderful, especially the steak. The staff and the owners were warm and welcoming and the hotel is located in a beautiful area with plenty to do. It was... More
