We booked a two-night break at he end of October to celebrate our (41st) wedding anniversary and brought along our little dog who has been with us for thirteen of those years! She would have loved to take advantage of the wonderful walking opportunities that abound from the doorstep of this lovely, welcoming small hotel. Room was excellent, meals superb... More

A homely welcoming hotel in a great location. Great walks from the front door. Food was good and rooms pleasant. Staff were brilliant especially Katie who's professional courteous attitude made our stay even more special.

If this is a 3 star hotel then I am staggered. It is clearly better than 3! I cannot fault the place at all....perfect location, superb staff, warm relaxing atmosphere, lovely spotless rooms and wonderful food! It won't be long before I will be returning.

On arrival a welcome of afternoon tea. Each of the reception rooms wrap you in a home from home country house feel. All around the Hotel are items of decor well chosen, interesting and seem to fit in. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable with a view over the well kept garden.A well appointed bathroom. An ideal walking base to explore... More

My wife and I take a lot of short breaks through the year, and we stay at different types of hotels. Many are comparable with this establishment. However our views may be harsher than most but we try to make valued judgements on a consistent scale. BOOKING We received an autumn offer for our stay. We telephoned through our booking... More

We stayed for two nights with a package that included room upgrade and dinner, plus afternoon tea. On arrival we were greeted very warmly by Leone and our first impressions were very positive. The lounges are cosy with roaring fires and the whole atmosphere is very calm and peaceful. We were upgraded to a coach house room, this is really... More

Stayed here for two nights whilst on family business so not exactly a holiday, but the peace and warmth of this hotel certainly eased our minds. A beautiful location and delightful views, especially so with the autumnal colours. Excellent situation for walking (Offa's Dyke immediately behind) and easy to visit many interesting places. A bonus in that they accept dogs... More

Pen y Dyffryn was the perfect spot for us to unwind for 3 days after a difficult family time. A small, comfortable and friendly hotel with a warm welcome, pleasant staff, and excellent food. Completely new menu each evening. A lovely rural location, well placed for touring Llangollen, South Snowdonia and several NT properties.
