I frequently pick burgers out of menus and to do date only two places stick out: Bianca's restaurant in Gibralter and Bill's Burger Bar in New York. A few weeks ago I added a third place to that list: The Old Court Hotel in Witney. I ordered a 10 ounce burger with brie, bacon and guacamole and I've never experienced... More

I stayed here following a recommendation from a friend and it was fantastic. The rooms are all uniquely designed and there are thoughtful details such as bottled water by the bed, packs of biscuits and several bottles of shower gel, all of which I have often found to be in short supply in other hotels. The staff were all very... More

On a day tour of the Wye Valley we stopped at Symonds Yat for lunch. Our driver recommended this hotel for a meal. I am so glad he did. The hotel is an Elizabethan manor and retains its character and charm throughout. Oak beams and fire places give a warm and welcoming feeling. The team of staff were young and... More

I have stayed here many times since the beginning of this year the hospiality, cleanliness and food have always been excellent. The ' pot de jour' choice is a welcome change from the usual hotel food that as a seasoned buisness traveller like myself gets fed up with. Stayed in many hotels in this area and can't find a better... More

Family and I (including our dog) stayed there for 42 nights after our own home caught fire. We were greeted by an extremely helpful owner who could not do enough for us. The rooms were warm and really comfy. The food was fantastic.

We booked a night here for New Year's Eve and were very disappointed particularly with the attitude of the host. He offered us an upgraded front of hotel room and when we raised the issue of noise he assured us that the road noise outside our room would stop at 7.00pm. The noise of the road kept us awake all... As I regularly travel I write fair reviews and don't mark down for things which are obvious and totally out of control of the hotel or restaurant, e. g. if you book a hotel that is situated on a busy main road there will be noise from the street, if you book a room in a listed building the rooms... This was my third stay here at the old court. You're always guaranteed a warm welcome. The pooches mooch around the bar area and the fires roared. I had a fabulous steak...which was cooked exactly how I requested (rare) a fabulous pint and there is always banter with other people in the bar too. I stayed in room 8 which... More
