Having stayed here with my partner and choc lab Oscar Ill try to be a little less presumptions and more balanced than the review below who I can understand were upset but making outrageous statements, they never even stayed here. The family are so friendly and welcoming, we were offered tea the moment we arrived although there are facilities in... More

We booked a room in this Hotel via email. It got confirmed, I told Lisa the names of the people in the group - and then suddenly, a few days (!!) later I got an email saying "Dear Karen, I am really sorry but we are unable to take you at this time. Kind regards, Lisa smith". No explanation given,... More

I stayed here many times between April 2013 and January 2014, between starting a new job in Oxford and our house purchase in the area coming through - most weeks staying three nights. I also tried a couple of other B&Bs in the area, when Gorselands Hall was not available, and ended up coming back even though this was a... More

Rooms very comfortable, Excellent breakfasts. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall experience of our stay at Gorselands Hall was very good. So we went back for a second stay, which was equally good. We would highly recomend this B&B for anyone wishing to explore Historic Oxford, Witnet, Woodstock or Blenhiem Palace. Or the beautiful countryside of the Cotswold hills.

Travelled as a party of four, so review reflects experience of both rooms. ROOM Both on the small side - one more so than the other. Beds very comfortable - though Primark bedding when advertised as Egyptian cotton on the website. Lovely set up - towels on bed with biscuits on top. Kettle etc. to one side. Good quality biscuits!... More

Comfortable and in a quiet location just outside Oxford, and close to Blenheim Palace. The family room is a little tight for adults, with low angled ceilings. Breakfast was a little skimpy, and insufficient bread was available on our visit. We also had to ask for more butter and jam. For such a pleasant hosue, these were unexpected disappointments. Otherwise,... More

We had a really lovely stay at Gorselands hall. We had our 15 month old daughter with us, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Travel cot with bedding, high chair for breakfast, and happy for me to store her milk in their fridge. We visited Blenheim Palace for the day, and it is very close to here. We were... More

I stayed two nights in Gorselands Hall with my family and wish I could have stayed longer! The building and its rooms are exquisite, surrounded by tranquil green countryside. The friendly staff provided a generous tasty breakfast. All in all, we had an excellent visit.

Gorselands Hall is a Cotswold stone house that is set far enough back from the main road so passing traffic is not noticeable especially at night if you have the windows open. The same cannot be said for some guests. Creaking floorboards are all very quaint, but the owners should ensure that guests are made aware that their every footstep... More

We stayed two nights for our daughter"s wedding with bride, bride maids and friends. Lisa, James and family were so welcoming and friendly. The guest house and surrounding were excellent. They made it a Special Day for Emily (the bride) and everyone staying there. Highly recommended. Thank You!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
We welcome you to Gorselands Hall – home to three generations of our family. Young and old are equally welcome. Does your family include children or a dog? No problem! Please enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this country home from home.

Whether you are looking for a restful environment in which to have an unhurried holiday; a chance to explore the historic city of Oxford or the tranquil countryside of the Cotswolds; or need a one night stop between business appointments, Gorselands Hall is the B&B for you.

Unwind after your journey with a pot of tea and a slice of homemade cake – either in your room, or in the snug with books to browse and, in winter, a cosy fire.
The rooms are comfortable with drinks making facilities, flat screen TVs, hairdryers and power showers in the en-suite bathrooms.

We don't offer evening meals but we are happy to recommend some excellent local restaurants, all within 10 minutes drive.

In endeavouring to run an excellent B&B, we are mindful of what a wise man once said. 'Treat others as you would like to be treated'. We can't think of a better ambition for a B&B to have. We hope you enjoy your stay. ... more   less
