My husband and I stayed here for a night as I was celebrating my birthday. As we approached the hotel I was amazed, it looked stunning in the sunlight from the end of the driveway. A beautiful regal looking building and inside was just as amazing. The reception was all beautiful wood and the room adjacent the reception looked extremely... More

This place is a home away from home for large business groups. I arranged a stay for a week for 20 business colleagues that had travelled from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Miami, Costa Rica, Gibraltar, The Netherlands and the UK. The accommodation options are endless, the service exemplary and the grounds simply stunning. I arranged a team building event on the lawn... More

If you read my other reviews you will see I give praise where praise is due, sadly it is not due here. I'm sitting in room 26 on the top floor despite having booked room 3 six months ago as I needed a lower building room for access with someone with limited mobility, I even have confirmation that we are... Stayed here middle of June for a niece's wedding which was in woodstock. The price for two rooms was very reasonable compared to actually staying in woodstock. Love the reception hall and surrounding big rooms. There was a slight treck to our rooms, but nothing that was to energetic. The gun room bar was a nice place for a quick... More

My husband and I came to stay here because it was also the reception of a wedding we were attending. I booked a room - not sure of the name/status of the room - but it was really big and lovely - a four poster but without the material at the top. Our room was central to the hotel and... More

We had an overnight-er here and were glad we did not stay longer. The rooms were designed for single occupancy whilst it was a Police college and have had double beds levered in to them. The phrase conference room should say" okay for single occupancy."The walls are also paper thin and in need of renovation and toiletries were somewhat lacking.... More

Beautiful hotel in lovely setting. Property and facilities very well maintained and pristine. The public areas and rooms were very very clean. Lovely hotel but the customer service was variable.. Paddy and Kimberley on reception are a formidable pair. Happy to help, advise and have a pleasant chat. They were very knowledgeable on the local area, which was an immense... More

Were prepared from other reviews for the annex low quality rooms which were the only ones available when booking. We booked two doubles and were surprised André dis appointer that they were far from each other and also very different quality. One small one with a narrow double bed and with a dodgy bathroom with a shower and without soap,... More

We were pleasantly surprised on arrival, everything was easy to hand and the service throughout our stay was excellent. Having read up on the place beforehand we were already aware of the nature and size of the annex rooms - as a result we accepted what we got and they were adequate for our needs. The main Hall has good... More
