Very happy to recommend this bed and breakfast. The owner was very helpful and provided a warm welcome. Room was clean and comfortable and well-equipped. There was a very good choice for breakfast. Overall an enjoyable stay.

I stayed her with a couple of colleagues when working local, the B&B is lovely and clean the the owner is so happy and helpful also she makes an amazing breakfast. The prices are reasonable and I'll be staying again when needed in the area again. It's within walking distance of the village which has pubs, restaurants and shops so... More

Alfred's Lodge is the Bed and Breakfast we stay in when in the area. It was in December when we were there and jolly cold outside but the room was warm and comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent. The only problem is finding the place, even on a second visit it easy to miss.

Staying in Wantage for one night whilst doing the rounds of the UK visiting friends and family. My wife and I stayed in the ground floor room 7 just across from the breakfast room. And whilst the room was small, it was nonetheless clean and comfortable. After all, it is only somewhere to put your head. However, we were rudely... More

A true gem, I've stayed a few times now and am always made to feel very much at home - Alfreds lodge has a special atmosphere - Nothing is to much bother, bed, shower, breakfast always lovely. The ONLY place to stay to explore Wantage and the Ridgeway!

I had the joy of staying here for 6 nights last week. The room, a twin on the first floor was lovely, lots of space and a great separate bathroom! The breakfast was lovely, and I was very warmly welcomed. My bed in the room was so comfy, I could have happily hibernated under that duvet! I usually stay in... More

We stayed there as we were doing a 52 mile walk in 24 hours. We'd booked in for the Friday and Sunday nights only as we were walking through the Sat night. Jane was absolutely amazing and let us leave our stuff in the room when we checked out Friday morning as it was free that night. She even made... More

We stayed here for one night, before attending the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Lovely little B&B and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the twin room, which looks as if it had the en-suite bathroom recently refurbished. A large walk in shower was pleasing to see, however slightly disappointed that the water pressure... We recently stayed in Alfred's Lodge having traveled up from Cornwall for a family wedding in Childrey. The rooms are lovely, we had the whole of the top floor (3 rooms) which was perfect for us. Wi fi is free and the showers (unlike many establishments!) are very good, the rooms were very clean and freshly decorated with very comfortable... More
