I work at Newcastle University and as part of our PhD postgraduate avenues of study, training courses are offered at the nearby Rutherford Appleton Laboratory campus. I am in charge of carting down the doctoral students from Newcastle to Oxford and for several years we used this establishment. We would have a pleasant stay, talk to the kind gentleman in... More

telephoned by the B&B before arrival as we had planned to arrive late. Told which room we were in, how to find it, where the key was and what to do if we needed any assistance . The room was a decent size with a double and a single bed and small wardrobe. Tea/Coffee making available in the room and... More

This is a very efficiently run B&B with, as other people have said, lovely gardens and very close to pubs in East Hendred. Our rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again and recommend if you are in this area.i

Overnight stay for a wedding ,our double with enough suite was in 'the annexe ' which is a separate house altogether with an amazing garden .A treat to have a freshly cooked full English .The room was immaculate and our bed comfortable, it had tea making facilities and a small amount of toiletries in the bathroom.

My stay was for only one night. The first impression I got was that I'd turned into a garden centre by mistake, but only because everything was laid out so well and perfect in every way. My single room was more than sufficient. It was comfortable, clean and spacious with an ensuite bathroom and brew making kit. The price was... More

A repeat stay here for working nearby, but this time I stayed in the main building rather than the annexe - a shade cheaper and I'll try everything once! The two sites are literally a 5minute walk apart, I think the annexe is probably worth paying a little extra for given a free choice, the main building just feels a... More

The fact that I keep returning says a lot about my opinion of this place. Usual high standard of service and stay. Not so keen on the twins, after many years of having a double bed don't like singles anymore. Breakfast as good as usual Remember to book non A road side rooms in the summer for peace, in winter... We stayed here 1 night after visiting Oxford. Everything was 1st class goos accommodations and a great breakfast. There are 2 pubs within walking distance of b& b. As other people have mentioned the walls are a little thin if the b & b is full and there are kids crying you will hear them. But overall i recommend a... More

We recently stayed at Greensands in the Annexe. This is a very large house which has been extended. The B&B is in large lawned grounds and at the edge of a beautiful little Village East Hendred. Our room was nicely furnished and modern. We had tea and coffee facilities but no Decaf coffee sachets. The bed was very comfy. My... More

Stayed here with family and opinions were quite mixed. Our room was comfortable, but nothing special, while parents-in-law had a much nicer room with french windows that they were very happy with. I felt the walls were very thin, and could hear sounds from other rooms, which meant that we didn't get a great night's sleep. Service was functional, rather... More
