We loved the rooms. Beautifully decorated. Plush comforters. After a 13+ flight from Colombia we rested like a baby. Also the food at the restaurant was great. Everything was freshly made. Breakfast was very good. Very good service. Hope this comments helped.

If you're looking for great food, amazingly comfy beds & attentive staff with a great sense of humour this is the place for you. They welcomed our two 'unsmall' dogs with open arms providing welcoming snacks & beds. The food is exquisite. Unusual but not at all pretentious. And the staff really do seem to enjoy their job - it... More

One of your vegetarian reviewers complained about the melted cheese with sourdough 'soldiers' without even trying it! More fool her. Made with the best local cheeses it was the perfect Boxing Day starter, way better than any cheese fondue. The mains and puddings, with the exception of one in which salt had been used instead of sugar, were well up... More

We have been here for special occasions and never been disapointed. A typical Cotswold pub hides the superb restaurant, Bar and restaurant are decorated in a style that you would expect in this area, it is the food that shines. Menu in the restaurant is not vast but everything is original and unique, when it arrives in front of you... More

It is so nice to find what amounts to the perfect small hotel, set quietly in a Cotswold village, with the restaurant run by the chef/patron. She and her staff really care, as we found out during our overnight stay and dinner. Even local Guernsey milk is on offer. Emily Watkins may be a star of Great British Menu, but... More

Just returned from a lovely weekend here celebrating one of our birthdays. Thank you for the little touches that made for a special birthday dinner. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was wonderful for both dinner and breakfasts, home cooked local produce British with a modern twist.

We went for a birthday celebration meal and overnight stay with high expectations. We found the staff excellent before, during and after the dinner which was of OK quality but from a very limited menu ( i expected a bit more than steak pie and chips plus kale as one of only 2 main course choices in a restaurant rather than... We have visited here twice recently and I don' think it will be too long before we go again! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and the decor is modern-old without looking out of place or made up. To describe the food as good pub food would be doing it a serious dis-service. We have only tried the bar food... More

We returned to the Plough having eaten there two years ago and enjoyed it. This time we arrived and were directed to a table next to the fire but very close to a large group chatting at the bar so we declined and asked to go into the dining area. We were taken in there but warned that we would... More

Went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having seen the chef Emily on TV we thought it a good bet for an overnight stay and dinner as we are keen foodies. The room was ok, albeit a little small and the staff were very attentive so this part of the experience was good, but...The meal itself was a major disappointment.... More
