Came to the Plough on recommendation and we were not disappointed. Lovely friendly welcome and although busy we were offered drinks and menus to pursue while we waited to be seated. Lovely Sunday Lunch, fab roasties and huge Yorkshire puds. One comment on pudding ... Don't mess with a sherry trifle. It's classic and my all time favourite pudding ...... More

I was torn between good and average ratings, having just put in an excellent for the dining room. BUT ... we stayed over and I was not overjoyed. The room was rather small, though it had a large, clean and very comfy bed. Everything else was cramped. No real hanging space either. The bathroom was a decent size but with... More

Me and my family had been away for what was suppose to be 5 nights, we'd stayed at 2 other hotels for the first 4 days and was 'suppose' to be staying at the plough for the last night. We booked this last year and paid in full as requested because we were booking half of the rooms in the... More

Is this a pub with rooms or a luxury hotel? It charges hotel prices but is little more than a glorified pub, suffering from all the deficiencies of a pub - high levels of noise (a constantly banging street door, thin ceilings, a bizarre room layout) and operating with a level of service that falls way short of anything you... We chose it as we had seen the chef a couple of times on the TV and her food looked interesting. The welcome was warm and the room we had was comfortable. It was at the top of some steep and narrow stairs but it was quiet and had a lovely outlook over the green. The room had everything you... More

This is a real gem hidden in the Cotswolds! Delightful rooms and delicious home cooked food combined with superb service made this an exceptional weekend away. Special touches, home made biscuits in the rooms along with a coffee machine as well as kettle. Jersey milk on the breakfast table, great fruit bowl and then home made drop scones before the... We have just returned from a stay here and it was absolutely great I couldn't fault it. We stayed in one or the refurbished rooms outside which was lovely.....I want to buy the pillows for our bed at home they were so gorgeous! We ate in the restaurant on Friday night and the food was superb. The bar staff and... More

We would have no hesitation in returning when the budget allows. I dislike the word "gastropub" but use it here to make the point that this is a small country pub with a handful of rooms, not a 5-star city hotel with facilities to match. We occupied the recently upgraded room 6, entered from an external staircase. It was very... More

The pub it situated in a lovely village. We payed an afternoon visit and so chose to eat in the bar where we could choose from a varied selection of bar meals. The ploughman was a great choice. However, within our group of 6 we managed to choose most of the dishes off the menu all of which were delightful.... More

We picked this as it was dog friendly, the place was quite small but it was fine as it wasn't that busy, typical English pub with a bit of character, the food was excellent, all our party were delighted with their menu choices, service was really good as well. Puddings were fantastic you must have one
