It is hard to choose a place to go in the Cotswolds and if your focus is on friendly restaurant with excellent food this is a good place to go. The food was clever enough to be interesting but not so messed about with that it had lost touch with its pub roots. The wait staff were well trained and... More

We went here for my birthday - an interesting old building with big old doors, quaint, odd-size rooms and multiple floor levels, the decor I would call 'farmhouse'. The food was generally good as you would expect, but a special mention to the chef for my main course - I ordered a rare steak with chips and it arrived hot... More

We met up with some friends there last weekend. There were eight of us; 4 children, 4 adults. The welcome was friendly and the quality of the food was second to none. Once our original orders had been taken however, the subsequent service wasn't great - we were very much left to it. Overall, I would say it was enjoyable,... More

We had booked a lunch table at The Wild Rabbit down the road, but received a call at 21.00 the night before advising they had been doing a kitchen refurb and that it had run over, so we opted for The Kingham Plough. We booked online without problem. We were welcomed on arrival and though we're a few minutes early... More

Although this may appear to be a typical English pub, the food is anything but. I'm sure they could get you some fish & chips but you would be missing out on perfect Beef Wellington, hanger steak, brisket, fish, and don't forget the sticky toffee pudding! This is a great restaurant with a varied menu and super service. Would definitely... More

The room is small but you know that when you book it. £95 is probably £10 too much. My biggest gripe though is the shower room-mouldy shower and seriously there is more room in a budget airline loo than here. Breakfast and dinner were superb (particularly dinner). Will be back but not in room 7.

Was in the area for business and booked over the phone. At first I was told that they needed a deposit so I gave my cc details and they charged the whole amount. £100 for B&B which is a substantial amount of money for a pub room and even worse with no services or customer service whatsoever. After checking in... More

Wonderful food, scenery and service. This place is a real must for anyone visiting the area. We had a gorgeous Sunday meal here and it was the food that made it that much more special. I would definitely go back time and time again. The ambiance was just right.

I was brought here for a weekend break as a surprise birthday present by my girlfriend. We've both been really wanting to come here since seeing Emily's cooking on The Great British Menu and it certainly didn't disappoint. First of all the pub is a lovely place to stay with a great room and the bar area has an open... More

We booked a table for my father in laws 70th and we had an enjoyable evening. Setting is nice, quirky with a nice atmosphere. Warm and friendly and not at all pretentious. Service was great with Emily's husband being superb out front. Great approach with customers and very knowledgeable re: the food and wine. Great with the kids too and... More
