I've been meaning to eat at the Plough for a while, but I usually end up defaulting to the Wild Rabbit. After polishing off a perfectly cooked three course, I massively regret not eating a meal here sooner. This is a restaurant that truly loves its food and prides itself on sourcing all ingredients locally/making all recipes in house. I've... More

Delicious food. Great, varied menu offering foods such as snails, beet root soufflé and scotch eggs as well as firm pub favourites a including burgers to die for and cock o leeks pie. The food was great. The service was pretty slow and needs improving upon. Great ambience inside though and a lovely doing room. The outside seating area didn't... More

Consistently good and a firm favourite. The quail's scotch eggs were just one of the loveliest things I have ever eaten.... Really fantastic cock-a-leekie pie and proper burgers - super delish. Would have given five stars but the children's portions were a tad small: good but small.

the first part of our gourmet tour of cotswold was the kingham plough, booked months in advance of times critic giles coren's scathing review and his hatred of - sous-vide. we neednt have worried, we loved everything, the food, accommodation and very friendly staff. the homemade pies and sausage rolls were lovely for a late lunch and we could not... Stayed one night at The Plough to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived mid afternoon, checked in then headed back to the bar for ice cold Rose wine and the scrummiest homemade sausage rolls you could ever eat. Our room was spacious, light and airy. Quite basic but really more like staying with a friend which we liked. The bed... More

We stayed for two nights last week. The service from everyone was brilliant. The atmosphere is relaxed and charming. Our room was great, large room, very comfortable bed, very small loo! The food was seriously good, home cooked bread, home made butter, home cured pork, most ingredients are locally sourced and it shows. Emily is clearly a very talented chef... More

Firstly, the distance travelled was worthwhile. Great exterior and the Plough is in a good location. We were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome, with a light hearted joke about the table for two. If all visitors are welcomed in this manner then all to the good. The plough's menu was well set out and it was difficult for us... More

We stayed for one night in this lovely part of England, which isnt far from Chipping Norton. The Inn was excellent. The Plough is run by 'Great British Menu 'winner Emily Watkins, who recently made the fish coursefor the D.Day Veterans, celebrating their seventieth anniversary in St Pauls Cathedral. The rooms were beautiful and spacious and there is a spacious... More

Emily Watkins the chef from the Great British Menu fish course runs a lovely hotel with a super restaurant. The rooms are small but well equipped. Big duvet a bit too heavy for summer though. The room we stayed in will need decorating soon but that is a minor issue. The food excels and the service was delightful throughout the... More

Went for lunch and a beer. Knew the chef's credentials so our expectations were high. We weren't disappointed. We had four dishes from the bar menu plus a side of triple cooked chips, 2 ice creams to finish and 3.5 pints of beer. Total cost £34 and we were stuffed! The quality of the food was really high - so... More
