Stayed with my wife one night for her birthday. Room was really comfortable, staff were very friendly and attentive and the whole experience was positive. The cost of dinner was very reasonable and the meal most enjoyable. Breakfast was also memorable, with fresh bread from the oven and drop scones that melted in the mouth. We can definitely recommend staying... More

Saw Emily Watkins (Chef Proprietor) on The Great British Menu so thought we'd give her place a try. Our room was in an annex (bedroom 7) and was OK but nothing special. Fairly small, simply furnished and with a very small bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable through and perfectly OK for the two nights we stayed. Breakfast was... More

Stopped here for a bit to eat, whilst staying at a B&B down the road. A great place if you want ultra-local fresh ingredients (the Rabbit was claimed to have been shot within 20km and was noted that it may still contain shot!). Food was carefully prepared and the mini-pub in the entranceway looked like a great place for a... More

This is a little hidden gem in the Cotswolds. They have thought of everything, from homemade biscuits in the room to having available to its guests all manner of mobile chargers in case you have forgotten yours. We chose this hotel as part of a 70th birthday gift & we were not disappointed. The rooms are quaint & comfortable but... More

with a racing friend I was down for the week for the Cheltenham Festival. Staying at a nearby bed and breakfast, the Plough was walking distance, so on the Monday we,surprisingly were able to get a table at short notice. We now wished it had been fully booked. A very limited menu, no specials, and what we had was not... More

The hotel has a great home-made menu. We had several items from the Bar menu and everything from the scotched quail eggs to home-made sausage rolls were comfort food at its best. The dining by the log fires and stone walls is exactly what you want in this setting. The room was great and felt regal. Breakfast was also fantastic.... More

Walking through the main door past the smelly toilets is not a good start!! And I'm afraid it went downhill after that! My husband & I fancied a weekend away in a nice Cotswold Pub with open fires, & some good grub. We were shown to a room with a bathroom so small & dirty it should never have been... More

It is hard to choose a place to go in the Cotswolds and if your focus is on friendly restaurant with excellent food this is a good place to go. The food was clever enough to be interesting but not so messed about with that it had lost touch with its pub roots. The wait staff were well trained and... More

We went here for my birthday - an interesting old building with big old doors, quaint, odd-size rooms and multiple floor levels, the decor I would call 'farmhouse'. The food was generally good as you would expect, but a special mention to the chef for my main course - I ordered a rare steak with chips and it arrived hot... More
