Our room was very badly arranged with a bathroom that had seen much better days. Not even a nail to hang up your towel. Shower fitting coming off wall and impossible to alter angle of shower head. Only one bedside lamp so impossible to read in bed. Curtain pole very fragile and hardly any curtain hooks, so large gaps at... More

The Courtroom Suite is on the front of the building; and is impressive. Lovely comfortable beds, but there is a wine bar next door, pub below and town square in front. Loud, drunk behaviour plus traffic, bus and motorcycle exhaust noise means no sleep with the windows open! Guests that stagger to bed in the early hours will wake you... More

I stayed here for 2 nights recently and it was a pleasure. We stayed in the ground floor room over looking the courtyard which had been refurbished in March 2014. It was very modern and peaceful. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much. It was a pleasure to stay here and I will definitely return.

Decided to attend an airshow at Fairford at short notice and this seemed to be the best value accommodation I could find. Faringdon itself is not a very nice town compared to others in the Cotswolds, and the Old Crown itself is a place that reflects the slightly 'chavvy' nature of the town. I would describe it as a 'Sky... More

Very quirky old building with some lovely features, confused to see Christmas decorations up in the bar, afterall it was July! Local's are very vocal with colourful language, and we saw several that arrived a lunchtime and left at kicking out time worse for wear, good business for the bar none the less. We had lunch in the bar which... More

The staff were pleasant and helpful (a problem with our cistern was fixed instantly), but we were very disappointed to discover that on Sunday, breakfast ends at 9am! Yes - it's written on a small 'business card' that you are given on arrival, but that's no excuse. The beer (Doom Bar - usually a good ale) was also sub-standard. Oh,... More

The Old Crown Coaching Inn is well placed for an overnight stay ahead of a visit to the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Other than that I can find no reason to recommend it to anyone unless they warn a sub-Faltwy Towers experience. The Reception Desk NASA sign, when unmanned, requesting you ring the bell on the wall... More

My wife and I stayed here 5 months ago for a special occasion and chose to come here again for a slightly longer stay (5 nights). The management has changed during that time and the new manager, Neil, is really working hard to create a welcoming hotel. We were very pleased with the excellent service from him and the rest... We visited for two nights on the 2nd and 3rd of June 2014 travelling by recumbent trikes, we pulled into the cobbled courtyard and the manager rushed to greet us saying "I have somewhere secure for your bikes", very helpful and friendly, we had one of the refurbished rooms looking on to the courtyard, despite them being new there was... Stayed here with some friends whilst on our RandomRoadTrip (www.randomroadtrip.co.uk). Very friendly staff, rooms were very clean and tidy as were the bathrooms. Toilets in the main hotel area were exceptionally clean. A great place to stay in the Oxfordshire countryside
