Very quirky old building with some lovely features, confused to see Christmas decorations up in the bar, afterall it was July! Local's are very vocal with colourful language, and we saw several that arrived a lunchtime and left at kicking out time worse for wear, good business for the bar none the less. We had lunch in the bar which... More

The staff were pleasant and helpful (a problem with our cistern was fixed instantly), but we were very disappointed to discover that on Sunday, breakfast ends at 9am! Yes - it's written on a small 'business card' that you are given on arrival, but that's no excuse. The beer (Doom Bar - usually a good ale) was also sub-standard. Oh,... More

The Old Crown Coaching Inn is well placed for an overnight stay ahead of a visit to the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Other than that I can find no reason to recommend it to anyone unless they warn a sub-Faltwy Towers experience. The Reception Desk NASA sign, when unmanned, requesting you ring the bell on the wall... More

My wife and I stayed here 5 months ago for a special occasion and chose to come here again for a slightly longer stay (5 nights). The management has changed during that time and the new manager, Neil, is really working hard to create a welcoming hotel. We were very pleased with the excellent service from him and the rest... We visited for two nights on the 2nd and 3rd of June 2014 travelling by recumbent trikes, we pulled into the cobbled courtyard and the manager rushed to greet us saying "I have somewhere secure for your bikes", very helpful and friendly, we had one of the refurbished rooms looking on to the courtyard, despite them being new there was... Stayed here with some friends whilst on our RandomRoadTrip (www.randomroadtrip.co.uk). Very friendly staff, rooms were very clean and tidy as were the bathrooms. Toilets in the main hotel area were exceptionally clean. A great place to stay in the Oxfordshire countryside

A very pleasant surprise, much better than expected. Authentic C17 coaching inn with splendid old rooms, but roomy with good amenities. We were the only diners, but the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. Town is in a great location and pretty too. A happy experience.

The Old Crown is a lovely, historic building, with lots of interesting features, creaky floorboards, a great courtyard, in the middle of a market square. On to the rooms, we stayed in a superior double, the two superiors are over the bar at the front of the inn, so can get quite noisy of an evening with the locals ,... More

We stayed for 3 nights and found a few 'little things' spoilt it. No remote for the TV and no effort made to provide one, light bulbs out and no attempt to replace them, no toilet roll left one day etc but feel that the main problem is they're trying to do it on the cheap. The manager works himself... More

This is the second time we have stayed at this Inn - very clean and excellent rooms but let down by the staff - NOT the staff behind the bar, they are so friendly and helpful but when having breakfast we felt as if we were an inconvenience!! No greeting, no smiles just stood there with the pad and when... More
