The way one is treated in this hotel is why Britain has such a poor reputation in the hospitality sector. Totally agree with a previous review re staff attitide, customers are a total inconvenience. We didn't have aproblem with the room although the cupboard masquerading as a bathroom was disappointing but all was totally clean and fine for one night.... More

Thank you for your email although we are quite mystified by your response, At the bottom of the stairs to the breakfast area, the waiter explains that you help yourselves to the tea coffee, cereals etc& if for some reason he has not been heard it is written on the breakfast menu. i`m unsure of when you have stayed but... This is a lovely hotel with lots of character, our room was beautiful with lots of room, the crooked floorboards and ceilings just added to the character of an old coaching inn, rooms, restaurant and bars on different levels. Courtyard to sit in if required. Free Wifi but very hit and miss with the signal. The front of the hotel... More

We stayed here for two nights as part of a large group. Firstly I phoned twice in the days before to ask about cots and I was told they didn't know if they had any and that I wouldnt be able to turn two singles into a double because they couldn't remember if the beds could do that, no offer... Lovely quaint hotel , grand location . Full English breakfast needs more variety and due to hotel set up , security needs looking at..car parking at rear of hotel available but lots of on street parking also close by.

The Crown is in a lovely old coaching inn, but unfortunately that is all that is good about it. The room was OK but it didn't get cleaned (we were there for 3 days). And it's the only hotel I've ever stayed in that didn't provide soap (we did get two tiny sachets of shampoo to last us the whole... More

Our room was very badly arranged with a bathroom that had seen much better days. Not even a nail to hang up your towel. Shower fitting coming off wall and impossible to alter angle of shower head. Only one bedside lamp so impossible to read in bed. Curtain pole very fragile and hardly any curtain hooks, so large gaps at... More

The Courtroom Suite is on the front of the building; and is impressive. Lovely comfortable beds, but there is a wine bar next door, pub below and town square in front. Loud, drunk behaviour plus traffic, bus and motorcycle exhaust noise means no sleep with the windows open! Guests that stagger to bed in the early hours will wake you... More

I stayed here for 2 nights recently and it was a pleasure. We stayed in the ground floor room over looking the courtyard which had been refurbished in March 2014. It was very modern and peaceful. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much. It was a pleasure to stay here and I will definitely return.

Decided to attend an airshow at Fairford at short notice and this seemed to be the best value accommodation I could find. Faringdon itself is not a very nice town compared to others in the Cotswolds, and the Old Crown itself is a place that reflects the slightly 'chavvy' nature of the town. I would describe it as a 'Sky... More

Very quirky old building with some lovely features, confused to see Christmas decorations up in the bar, afterall it was July! Local's are very vocal with colourful language, and we saw several that arrived a lunchtime and left at kicking out time worse for wear, good business for the bar none the less. We had lunch in the bar which... More
