After a long day of driving we got to Farringdon Old Crown. No reception, but very friendly locals haning out at the basement bar, one turned out to be responsible for check-ins. After a windling way through the groundfloor bar/restaurant, through a sidedoor marked only for emergency, we got to the upper floor where a maze of corridors took us... More

I've just got back from a night staying at the Old Crown. The occasion was an evening with three other mates from uni days (I've known them a long time now!) Our requirements are somewhere comfortable, good value and with decent beer. The Old Crown fitted all of these very well. What I hadn't realised before we got there was... More

Booked in for a post-RIAT visit and was really pleased. Lovely old coaching inn was spotless with pleasing décor. Great nights sleep in a very comfy bed - Room 7 was nice and quiet even with the sash window left open on a lovely summer evening apart from soft chattering of the bird life. Had a decent meal in the... More

Stayed for one night to attend a wedding in the area. Heather and team very welcoming, friendly and couldn't have been more accomodating. Really lovely large double clean spacious room (called Naseby), located off the courtyard at the back of the hotel on the ground floor. Very large bed, nice bathroom with shower. Was very quiet - but I was... More

The character of this place was really cool. Our room was nice, spacious and clean. We also enjoyed the bar and restaurant. The staff are amazing and topped off the experience for us. We had a really good time in the bar & enjoyed a few laughs. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

We just returned after a four night stay in this rambling coaching inn. The place is full of character and felt homely. The staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was clean and comfortable and was made up fresh daily. There was a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. The number... More

Heather the manager and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful BUT we had booked a room with a bath, only got a shower, could not have the room changed; it was very small and badly in need of updating. The breakfast was excellent, all freshly cooked and the carvery was all fresh vegetables and lovely meats. Pity the... More

Don't really like leaving bad reviews but: I stayed here for 5 nights while attending a course. My room was sufficiently comfortable but the fact it was directly above the bar meant that even with ear plugs in I felt as though I was sleeping in the bar, which, unfortunately for me was full and intolerably loud every night I...
