I have never stayed anywhere as cosy & yet elegant as The Bell Hotel. The staff are fantastic, the owners Mark & Ali went that extra mile to look after me following a family bereavement. My room was spectacular, with a view over the Market square. The food goes beyond delicious to the sublime & the prices are so cheap.... More

I stayed here last night due to working in the area, booked at short notice on the day over the phone. When i called, I spoke to Mark and reserved the room in a matter of minutes, no fuss. On arrival, was booked in by Mark and he showed up to the room rather than jut pointing at the stairs... More

A very warm & friendly hotel, All the staff could not do enough to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. The food was excellant, very good choice for breakfast freshly cooked,Dog friendly too dogs were welcome in the lounge bar, where a welcoming fire was lit in the fire place.

It is a very old building and has original features and I think it just adds to the charm. Lots of hot water, tea/coffee facility s in room and sky tv. Lots of space and storage and for £70 ?for two people AND two dogs is brilliant! My only comment would be take the carpet out of bathroom?

We were booked into this hotel for 4 nights to celebrate our Coral wedding anniversary so were hoping for something special. We knew this was a old building so was expecting low ceilings, beams and uneven floors. We did not expect the stairs to the first floor to be so steep and no offer of help with our cases up... More

We detour through Faringdon annually on our way from Cardiff to Bedford for a bowls Tournament. The food has always been good and the surroundings of the old pub lend to a lovely atmosphere.Under new management we can only complement Mark and Alison with their catering staff for the welcome and friendly service. Luckily we had the opportunity to thank... More

Stayed with my wife, baby and our small dog for two nights over the bank holiday weekend this August. Had a great time and really enjoyed the stay. Mark and Alison are really friendly and bent over backwards to accommodate us and our odd dietary requirements. The building oozes character. Nooks and crannies, exposed beams and crooked doorways. It's the... More

The availability of two rooms for a one-night stay at fairly short notice over a Bank Holiday week-end holds a clue the overall hotel experience at The Bell. We stayed as Thames Path walkers, other accommodation nearer to the Thames being unavailable. The management couple. Mark and Alison work tirelessly from opening to closing times in this property owned by... More

We have just returned from lovely stay at the bell. After visiting the Royal International Air Tattoo on the Saturday we had organised to stay at the bell so we could have a good nights sleep before travelling home with our two year old. The staff were fantastic we were very tired and must have looked a sight as it... More

While staying at another hotel in the area we wandered into The Bell for a drink, we were greeted by Mark (the manager) and after a cheerful chat with him we decided to eat there later that evening. Upon entry there were tables to choose from we chose one that had a view over the market place,we ordered and had... More
