Can only rate the dining experience as we did not stay here. We had spent time with friends who live in the village and they had booked us to come here for Sunday lunch before our return home. My daughter's chicken was blood red in places but they quickly replaced it. One slice of beef on a very big sunday... More

Thank you for your review. We were sorry that the Sunday lunch was not to your satisfaction. We can assure you that the chicken was thoroughly cooked, having been tested by a meat thermometer before serving. As I'm sure you are aware, the thigh and leg is often pink but we are always happy to replace food as per our... More

I visited this pub with my son and daughter on a Tuesday evening after deciding to try and find a local pub to have tea at which had a good menu at reasonable prices. The gentleman that took my booking was extremely polite and helpful which really raised my hopes for a good evening. We were not disapointed. The pub... More

I visited the Horse & Jockey for the first time in April this year. Ive already returned 3 times since! The food was very good - I had the calamari to start followed by the linguine. Both were perfectly cooked & seasoned and it was clear that it had all been prepared from scratch. My husband loved his steak and... More

We think this pub has had a thorough refurbish but the food does not match up. We were greeted well at the bar and our drinks brought outside quickly. The food was well presented but the tzaitziki was a thin enough to drink with a few tiny bits of cucumber, the quacamole was brownish and tasteless, the humous was fine.... More

We're so sorry you were disappointed by the food, next time you come and visit please tell us if anything is not to your satisfaction at the time and we'll fix things straight away, we'd never knowingly let any of our customers walk away disappointed. We hope to make it up to you next time. More

The recent fire left many wondering what would happen to the place and it's been done beautifully. There's still bar stools to sit and chat at the bar. A friendly welcome, happy staff and still in keeping with the tradition of the place. It's now gorgeous inside. Could do with rails in the loos for disabled and possibly a disabled... More

A group of us were camping near by and arrived about 8:30pm on the Friday night. Some of us had some food which was awesome. Portion sizes were good and the specials were also good. Popped in in again for dinner on Saturday but they were too busy to feed us. Instead they suggested somewhere down the road and went... More

We visited the Horse and Jockey as we wanted an evening to ourselves over the bank holiday weekend whilst visiting various relatives in the south of England. Tempted by the price of the rooms and the good reviews on trip advisor. The rooms are in a small annexe at the back of the pub and were clean comfortable and ideal... More

We visited this pub due to its closeness to Faringdon and Buscot Park which we planned to visit later. The weather was good enough for an outside meal and so we had lunch there. The staff were helpful and service was fine. They were happy to carry out our small extra requests. The food was also OK and good portions.... More

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Horse & Jockey, enjoyed it so much thought it was important to share my thoughts with others considering where to stay - near Oxford. This Inn is run by very friendly owners. The pub is full of character and is run very well. Not only is the menu varied and... More
