Stopped by on the way to Reading from the Cotswold and was delighted. Smashing pub, great food and great service. We had Welsh Rarebit and chips and loved it. The interior is spectacular. Loved it. Very nice pint of Stowford.

Excellent Sunday lunch, generous portions well cooked. Special mention for the vegetable selection as good as you will find in so called up market establishments. No silly Jus here, good old meat flavoured gravy with your roast joint. Worth a detour if you don't live too near.

Our normal B&B in this area has just closed and so looking for an alternative we came here. The staff were not only efficient but also very friendly. Only 3 bedrooms and ours was clean. The accommodation block is separate from the pub area which is. Good as any noise from functions in the pub are not heard. Standard grill... More

Very hot afternoon so stopped by for a quick drink on the way home. Have not been in for a while so was amazed by the refit. It is a cracking pub and the service was fast and very friendly. Great beer and well kept. The food looked good so we will be coming back to try it.

Stopped just for a drink in the garden and picked up a menu to have a look at.The landlord came out to say that we were very welcome to order lunch, but there were a number of people expected in 20 mins, so might be an idea to order now, but no pressure. So we both ordered the roast beef,... More

We stopped by on a Sunday evening for a quick meal on the way home from a visit, so only used the restaurant. The waitress who welcomed us was very helpful and friendly. The menu was restricted from usual (because it was Sunday evening), but it had plenty of pub staples like Fish and Chips, Burgers and Pizza. The Beer-battered... More

Stayed here for one night, arrived when the pub was shut in the afternoon but the landlord saw me in the car park and showed me to my room! The room was clean, comfortable and had everything you could want! I had my evening meal in the bar which was delicious and quick to arrive! Breakfast was again delicious! The... More
