Love the lamb at buckland! Always friendly service and super food! Will always recommend to friends and family. Thank you for another great evening. Your chef and staff are a credit to you. Thank you Mr & Mrs Brinkley

We were looking for a nice pub with good food and rooms for a Saturday escape from the city. Excellent value we booked a room for £80 including breakfast. On arrival at the pretty pub, as the only guests we were upgraded to the larger room which was a lovely gesture (but they were all very nice so don't worry... More

I have used this friendly pub many times, and normally the food is very good. On a recent visit we were disappointed - the normally excellent fish and chips were poor - the fish stale and tasteless. Possibly an off day, but Chef should not have served such sub standard product.

We go to the Lamb for dinner every fortnight during the shooting season and I have to say it is my highlight of the day. The home cooked food is fantastic.. All freshly prepared in house. We always get heaps to eat and the price is great too. Steak night is fantastic and great value. If you fancy a take... More

My son and I decided to have lunch before he returned to London and it was an excellent decision! He had partridge for the first time and deemed it one of the best meats he had ever eaten - which together with his gravalax starter and sticky toffee pudding made one of his favourite meals. I had pancakes, sirloin steak... More

I have just returned to a dreary Manchester evening from what can only be described as a wonderfully warm and delightfully quaint weekend away at the Lamb Inn at Buckland. The rooms and pub (not to mention the Miss Marple-esque, chocolate box surrounding village of Buckland) were beyond expectation! Warm, inviting, immaculate and everything you would want from a winter's... More

Nine of us had a very good meal here yesterday when we were celebrating 40 years of University Hall Buckland (now a private house)- Shelley and all the staff were very welcoming. Lovely pub, recently refurbished and excellent food.We hope to return next year. Take a look at some pictures of the village form 50 years ago here: http://www.uhb.org.uk/

The Lamb has just re-opened after a miraculously swift make-over but otherwise the same excellent service and food. The dining room has lost it's tatty tables and there are lots of touches which should satisfy some of the recent criticisms. Sadly Sam, the lovely bar manager of five years standing, has left thus depriving the village of the daily speculation... More

We walked about a mile off the Thames Path on our recent walking holiday to stay at the Lamb and we are very glad we did. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful of any place we have ever stayed. From the cask ales before dinner, the grilled sardines starter, the chicken harissa salad and beef and mushroom ale... Myself and my sister stayed for a weekend and had such a lovely stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, telling us the best places to go in the area and beyond, they took a genuine interest in making our stay the best it could possibly be and nothing was too much trouble. We arrived quite late on the... More
