Room very tired and needs painting, especially the outside. Springy mattress, not very comfortable if your used to a foam mattress. Wifi very hit and miss. Worked one side of the room but not the other. Breakfast served in a large shed, they call a dining room. Very cramped though we found the food very good. Room walls very thin,... More

Close to the centre of Abingdon down a very rough track passing the Rye Farm parking area. Reasonable size rooms with a good shower area. Decent shower, nice and clean. The room we were in had twin beds pushed together so were a good size but the top sheet was not big enough to tuck in properly so rumpled up... More

The breakfast was poor. The room was very cramped and the table and chairs were more akin to camping. It was more like a hut than a dining room. The food was basic, there wasn't much choice and the food was not very well cooked or presented. The woman on cooking duty was brusque and unhelpful. We got out as soon... More

We regularly visit the area to visit family and were looking for somewhere decent to stay - unfortunately this was not it. Paper thin walls meant we enjoyed the argument between the couple next door. Wifi and BBC signal both cut out after a few seconds. Toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall. Fridge in the bedroom cut in... More

We stayed for two nights in July, whilst we were visiting Blenheim Palace. There is ample parking on site, & it is within easy level walking distance of the cottages. The Kingfisher location is in beautiful countryside, being very peaceful, a heron flew over as we arrived. The staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast was great, set us up... More

Booked 2 rooms for overnight stay. We arrived after 4pm, the reception was closed but there is a telephone situated outside the reception and we were shown to our rooms within 10 minutes. The rooms were well equipped and clean, toiletries supplied and lovely thick towels in the bathroom. We were in the area for a family party and choose... More

We stayed here in August/ September 2014 as we had moved from overseas and were very disappointed. The apartment we stayed in was very small and we hardly managed to get 2 adults and 2 kids around the dining table. We also found the place to be rather dusty and dirty and the cleaning that was supposed to be included... More

Stayed in Stable Cottage for 4 nights in April. Staff friendly and helpful and ensured our cottage was ready for us when we arrived early. Quiet location and well situated for Abingdon and walking Thames Path. Cottage was very clean and quite spacious for four people. Well equipped kitchen (lots of plates, glasses etc) but overall equipment rather lacklustre and... More

Mixed review because the Stable is probably next in line for upgrading in lounge furniture/chairs, beds, cutlery, which would make it 4 star. It is in a good rural location but only a short walk into Abingdon, the barns are well equipped and clean/comfortable, the small swimming pool is a good depth and a good bonus. The courtyard feature is... More

We stayed for two nights on B & B accommodation whilst visiting friends in Abingdon. The cottages look quite pretty with courtyard setting. They are set some distance from the road and it was 'pitch black' coming back at night with no lighting along the road. We have never slept in such an uncomfortable bed. The room was basic and...
