The trouble with this accommodation is that every good point is cancelled out by a bad one - specifically: * there is plenty of parking BUT it is down a narrow, single-track lane with potholes * the reception staff are friendly enough BUT they knock off at 6pm (or thereabouts) * there is plenty of hot water BUT the fittings... A fabulous fantastic place to stay - room very comfortable and spacious - microwave and fridge was fab for our impromptu picnic - 10 mins max Into town - lots of lovely shops Swimming pool was nice and because bookable you get it to yourself I can highly recommend this lovely set of cottages which range from 2 people up... Certainly not up to 4star standard. Room clean and good size batnroom, unfortunately extremely hot during stay and there is no fan or air conditioning in the rooms. The breakfast was very mediocre, one got the impression the accomodation was all self catering at one time and they introduced b&b as an after thought as it is served and cooked... More

The room that we had was clean, comfortable and equipped with microwave and a good range of china and cutlery. Dogs are made very welcome and even a dog bowl and blanket is provided. It is an easy walk into Abingdon and down a lane to the River Thames. The staff are attentive and breakfast is cooked when you arrive... More

Excellent place to stay if you wish a peaceful setting but near to the town as well Down a small country track but good driving manners helps avoid mishaps Clean and well stocked with all you would need for a S/C holiday It even had a washing machine which was a good touch The swimming pool is great place as... Just outside Abingdon a short walk along the drive and then over the bridge and you are in abingdon, my stay though did not go as smooth as it should because of a previous guest which meant that my stay was cut short not due in any way down to the owners who went above and beyond the call of... Ten minutes walk from Abingdon, Kingfisher Barn is a great location and has a lovely rural feel to the place. At a reasonable price and after reading some other reviews I had my concerns......No worries at all, a very professional down to earth team of staff answered all queries. The room was clean and spacious with a good size bathroom... More

Advertised as a four star - not so in my opinion Rooms dated and in need of refurbishing but clean and comfortable. WiFi free. Bathroom spacious and clean. Bed light did not work. Room well lit but cannot turn individual lights off - all or nothing. Car park long way from room and not secured apart from a CCTV. Substantial... More

Stayed in the cottages for a couple of nights with friends as a hen party. Excellent for our purpose as it accommodated everyone and was a very social environment. Quite remote so didn't disturb anyone (also meaning that this would be a quite place to stay) Didn't have breakfast, had self catered but everything you needed was there i.e. pots... More

SHORT SUMMARY: The atmosphere was quaint and rustic, possibly out dated, but in a charming kind of way. It was the most affordable option and we certainly felt it was good value for money. Lovely, welcoming staff, and very helpful; above and beyond! FULL SUMMARY: My partner and I visited Kingfisher Barn last week and we had a very nice... More
