It is a good hotel. Handly location. good parking, good facilities, spacious. But it has no charm and lacks anything special. The saving grace for me was the quality of the breakfast. Our room was fine but no better than a Travelodge and a long walk from reception. Service was friendly but a bit thin on the ground. Its a... more

Stayed here one night on business, upgraded room was fine complimentary wine in room a real surprise lack of corkscrew a disapointment. Restaurant is functional - fish main course overcooked and inedible- cheeseboard and red wine good compensation. check out was a little slow and confusing Decor a little tired, needs a firmer hand at the tiller to be great more

The hotel is modern and set on a Retail Park on the outskirts of Abingdon next to Tesco Extra. The hotel offered a lot of extras that other hotels now seem to want to charge for. There was free parking, free wifi, free quality toiletries and even free biscuits on the refreshment tray. The hotel is very clean and bedrooms... more

I stayed at this hotel the night before a wedding in Abingdon. It was co-incidentally my birthday and the hotel kindly gave me a complimentary upgrade to a "Connoisseur room" which was spacious and quite good really. Included in the upgraded room is two small bottles of wine, mineral water and a paper the following morning. This is a good... more

The hotel though not the worst I've seen definitely got a long way to go to even its claimed 3 stars. There was an overall impression of shabbiness and dustiness. Our room was next to the fire door and it kept banging during the night as someone passed by. The service was fine. The location was not very good either... more

After cleanliness and security, the minimum I think it's fair to expect is civility and a good night's sleep. The breakfast and bar staff are very courteous and helpful. The reception staff need to learn English, and need to learn to smile and look their customers in the eye - maybe asking how the stay has been would be good... more

I seldom get to stay at hotels that have both friendly happy staff and great facilities. I stayed at Abindon when attending a conference and found the rooms a good size, comfortable and clean. The restaurant has good food and great service. Conference facilities was perfect for our event. Will definatly be booking here again. more

I recently stayed at the Abingdon Four Pillars Hotel whilst on business in the area and having read the previous reviews on this site I was concerned before going but I am pleased to say I found it to be much better than expected. My bedroom was a good size and very clean and both the Club Sandwich for dinner... more

I have lived in Abingdon for more than 20 years and have occasionly found myself here for various events. I am not a critical guest generally, but this place always fails to impress me. It is such a bad reflection on the town. The service is poor. Probably more as a result of management than anything else, nobody looks happy... more
