The Hotel is in a great setting and is quite quaint. The rooms though clean and well equipped are on the small size and this includes the bathroom with the toilet hidden behind the bathroom door. I missed the evening meal cut off and was told sorry by the receptionist; however no mention was made of any food still being... More

When we arrived at the hotel we parked at the rear and could not believe the state of bad repair the hotel was in. However when we walked around to reception we were encouraged by the obvious improvement in the look of the building. We were meeting friends at the hotel and they had already booked in and had been... More

Such a shame. Wonderful location, but very shabby and run down hotel. It could be so much more. Staff in the restaurant at breakfast were avoiding eye contact with clientele, so much so, we literally had to wait over 10 minutes before managing to get attention for tea and coffee, let alone food! That being said, supper was very poor,... More

When we arrived it looked like it needs some money spent on it, however we checked in and made our way to our room, the room was quite dark as it had one wall painted a dark green which made it feel smaller, the room hadn't been hoovered we had to get the receptionist to come and Hoover, the bathroom... As we drew up my first impression was oh dear it needs some TLC . Peeling paint and a bit dated in the older part of the building which is where our room no 31 was, it was a suite as it had a seating area .Not a bad room ,not luxurious by any means and the furniture was a... More

We stayed one night, during a bank holiday weekend and the price was too high for what you get . The room was quite big, but the bed has wheels and every time you try to sit or lay down it moves and is easy to fall. Although the bed itself is very comfortable, it is ridiculous to move around the... More

Dear Veselina P, Sorry to hear about the bed. We purchased the beds in December and when we realised how much they moved on the new flooring we had casters put under the wheels. Unfortunately it looks like someone thought their need was greater than ours and took them. If only you had mentioned it to reception, we had a... More

A lovely hotel in a great location, partly because it is in Abingdon which has a wealth of ace pubs and restaurants and partly because it is close to Oxford if you want to visit that lovely town. The rooms were not big, but big enough and clean. I wish they could do something about the slamming doors though, maybe... More

The Upper Reaches hotel is set on the banks of the River Thames in the centre of Abingdon. The staff were very friendly and polite. We stayed for one night on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. What I particularly liked was that the full menu was available to us. Often, in other hotels, there are restrictions and extra charges... More

We booked this hotel on half board basis. We swapped rooms as first one had broken bits in the bathroom and was dark. You could choose anything on the menu for dinner. It was so awful I called the Assistant Manager Tom over to view the food as it looked as awful as it tasted. I have photos to show... More
