We stayed in a modern room which overlooked the river, breakfast was very good but the starter for dinner was more about presentation than taste I think. Plus points: Nice clean modern room Nice views out of the window Close to Abingdon for shopping etc Friendly staff Minus Points: Room was roasting and only one fan for the whole hotel... more

We were a group of 3 couples getting together on the weekend. The boys played golf and the girls went for a walk. The hotel worked perfectly. Super location, quiet on the river, excellent service, good food and overall worked really well. We'll be back for sure. Dinner on sat night was very good, tasty and well presented. more

Incredible setting with ample car parking right in the centre of Abingdon and only a 20 min drive to Oxford. Our room was more than adequate - only two criticisms - 1, it was over the main entrance so was noisy (we would have asked to change rooms if we had been staying more than one night), and 2, when... more

We had our wedding reception at this hotel some years ago and I have to say it is still a nice hotel with excellent food! I would recommed this hotel for a small wedding party of no more than 65 people. If you want a nice lunch or dinner menu I would recommed this restaurant....(I Think the restaurant has been... more

Staying for a weeks business and it was a comfortable stay, the outside of the hotel and location seems to indicate something better than you are going to get. A nice location, friendly welcome and good service. Breakfast was variable, sometimes there was a very good selection, sometimes not. Often the salmon was not available and other to-order choices. The... more

Just returned from a lovely weekend at the Upper Reaches. We booked through late rooms and paid £80 for bed and breakfast which we believe represented great value for money. The hotel is in a stunning location and the perfect place to spend a Summer’s day (shame the sun wasn’t shining!). The hotel was nicely decorated with an attractive restaurant... more

I have so much to say I don't know where to start. I have been to this hotel several times before but I had my wedding reception here and the hotel and staff especially Kim gave me and my husband the best wedding ever. The hotel is absoulately gorgeous from the rooms to the river to the millwheel in the... more

This was the 2nd time of having stayed at The Upper Reaches for business, giving them a 2nd try after the 1st was over-shadowed by remodelling work. Sadly the remodelling hasnt brought this hotel up to date, with the rooms feeling very 80s in style. There is hot water but expect to wait for it to come through and then... more

I booked the Upper Reaches for one night and, having paid £150, I expected a nice, comfortable room. On arriving, I was quickly checked in and was happy to find my room was huge, with a balcony bed and a sofa bed. The bathroom was a nice size and had a decent shower. Even room service breakfast was included. "Perfect"... more

Having gone to great lengths to find a hotel halfway between ourselves and friends this fitted the bill. When we booked we asked to book a table for dinner, but was told it was full. Having experinced a hotel telling us they had no record of us booking we rung to confirm, and again asked if there had been any... more
