Looking at other reviews it would seem the rooms vary considerably. Our room was fine, not particularly large, plain decor but quite adequate for an overnight stay. Initially we were given a room in the main house but my husband had had an operation since we had booked and they were able to find us a room in the main... More

I traveled in the month of October 2015 and stayed at Coseners house for 6 days. I found this place with a great professionalism, neat and clean rooms, good breakfast and excellent surroundings. My recommendation: Worth to stay.

The hotel is a lovely old building but the rooms are rather dated and ours was not ensuite had to go across landing to the bathroom. Very nice and friendly stasff and we had gone up for a bithday party and the food they put on was really nice and they worked very hard to top up the food. It... More

We stayed at The Cosener's House overnight while we were attending a nearby wedding. The staff were very helpful whenever I called them (we had planned to bring our two small children with us but changed our minds shortly before the weekend we were staying). We were allocated a large room in the new block as we had thought we... More

Having found the place after the sat nav took us to a car park, we were greeted by an extremely pleasant young receptionist. She took our details and explained we were in the new build. No problem. The new build looks more like university accommodation but the price was right. The room was adequate but the TV was not functioning... More

I go to Abingdon for business regularly, but this is my first time in this hotel and conference center that is owned by the UK Science & Technology Facilities Council. The hotel is located by the Thames, a 2-minute walk from town center, but tucked way. Although one cannot book online, booking is simple with a phone call or email.... More

We stayed here as part of a large family group celebrating a wedding anniversary. We were with our two young children so had 2 separate twin rooms. I was a little disappointed not to be in a family room, but there were an awful lot of families staying some with much younger children, so I assumed there just weren't enough.... More

I would like to thank Humphrey and his team for making my birthday breakfast special. Even though I had over catered as let down by some of my guests. I had organised a cooked buffet breakfast (great selection of food) with the extra choice of Danish pastries cold meats and a selection of cheese. All helped down with a glass... More

Had we known about this Hotel before we would have certainly used it instead of the Upper Reaches,(now closed down) The staff were all extremely helpful, our room was a bit small, but next time we book we will ask for another. We visit Abingdon 3-4 times a year, meeting up with a friend who also stays in the same... More

I stayed here for two weeks with work as part of a group. Having read the reviews I wasn't expecting good things but on getting there i was pleasently surprised. My room was really spacious and although the shower room was very very small and the bed single, it was comfy and good enough for me. The food was brilliant,... More
