When you travel a great deal and spend a lot of time in hotels, to find accommodation that is clean, comfortable and welcoming is a real find. Having stayed at this B&B on more than one occasion the quality has never dipped. The comfort of a clean room with excellent facilities and guidance on how to use things is one... More

One of the funniest places we have stayed at. Decor as in the website, in fact it is all as the website, nice decor very clean, tea or coffee with a friendly chat on arrival, good breakfast which will see anyone through till lunchtime. It is on a main road which is noisy at the front even with closed windows. Front... More

After a lot of thought I have decided to respond to this rather strange review. It is interesting to see that we have been rated a ‘3’ even though we were so terrible and also amusing; but it is very sad to read such unbelievably mis-leading comments. It is purely for this reason that this response has been written to... More

Needed accommodation for one night on business and had a very pleasant stay in a clean, comfortable room. The host, Terry, was extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was superb to top it all off. Highly recommended - would stay again.

you could not ask for a more perfect place to stay, Terri is an excellent host and goes out her way to ensure your visit to her home/B&B is a pleasant one. With the bus stops just outside this property will give you easy excess to Oxford, costing only £4.50 return and two pubs within walking distance, I would highly... More

I booked the disabled room 1 on the ground floor. It was perfect for me. Terry was very welcoming and sat down with me and my two daughters for a pot of coffee and a chat on my arrival. She showed me every aspect of the room. The adjustable bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. Terry couldn't... More

What was meant to be an affordable nights stay turned out to be a luxury treat. Terri is the perfect host, with a friendliness and hospitality that can only be described as a joy to receive. The house is warm and inviting, absolutely immaculate and has a full roster of facilities including the much appreciated Egyptian cotton sheets, what a... More

I booked myself and my husband into the Guest House as a surprise weekend away for my husband's 60th birthday; as I have a muscle wasting illness and cannot manage the stairs, I booked the downstairs adapted room. I was pleasantly surprised when entering the room to discover the beds were adjustable, which for me was very helpful. The bathroom... More

I have been staying at the Abbey 3 nights a week for the last 4months and can honestly say I wouldn't stay anywhere else. I always get a warm welcome, even when I arrive late (for a B&B). Terry goes the extra mile and will even make a breakfast butty for you when you have to leave super early. There... More

Thank you for understanding that it is not possible to provide a 24 hour check-in because Abbey Guest House is not a hotel with staff available 24/7, it is a B&B with guests staying here in my ‘home’. It is gratifying to know that you appreciate all that we try to do here, and the fact that you occasionally arrive... More

Lots of pros and cons about this place! Price OK, and good access to A34. 136 Oxford Road - address not very promising, and sure enough it's quite a busy road, and although the house is set back from the road you can hear the road even with windows shut, if you have a room in the front. Huge pressure... More

It was very upsetting to read such a misleading review. If you had listened to what was said, you would have understood that late check-ins are frequently accepted and it was because I had done exactly that the night before you arrived, that I was over tired. It had been an exceptionally late arrival that had required me to get... More

This b&b is very pleasant and probably one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in!!Would recommend. Abingdon is a lovely old town and its well worth taking a walk along the Thames towpath. Its located on a bus route and so there is no need to use your car.
