He was spot on the service and his personal touch was amazing thats why i have had to write this. He made us laugh and made sure we were looked after. The... more

My new Husband & I stayed at the Hotel on our Wedding Night on Dec 8th and couldnt praise the staff and the quality of the Hotel enough!!. Our room the "Firbeck Suite" was absolutely beautiful and was of an extremely high standard. We had a wonderful breakfast which was an absolute feast, delivered to our room at 4am due... more

We had originally booked online to stay at the nearby Travelodge but upon arrival, the receptionist was most unhelpful with our request for an early check in and having seen the 'dog eared' decor, we decided to check rates at the Lion. The Lion's receptionist, in complete contrast, was extremely helpful over the phone and happy to reserve us a... more

I booked this hotel through Countrywide Golf Holidays on behalf of 20 golfers who were playing some local courses during the last weekend of September 2007. From the moment we arrived, we were very well looked after with a table for 20 already arranged in the restaurant and dinner arranged at a time to allow for a comfortable period of... more

Let's put in the good stuff first: great staff, very friendly and a wonderful breakfast. Reading the previous reviews I can only assume I was given the worst bedroom in the hotel. The wallpaper was badly peeling off the wall (the hotel decor is dated and tired anyway), the room was, in my opinion, small (£70 for a single at... more

The hotel wasn't full so we were upgraded to a fabulous room, more than twice the size of a normal room - and we didn't even have to ask. It was a really nice touch and one that many hotels could learn from. The room was so big we could hardly see the TV from the bed, with nice furniture... more

There was a big party of us staying at the hotel for a wedding at a nearby location (not, incidentally being catered for at the hotel) The staff could not have been more helpful or obliging. When the bride had expressed some regret that guests would not see England play in the World Cup quarter final because of the time... more

The Best Western Lion Hotel in Worksop is a great hotel in the wrong town! I can take or leave Worksop, but the Lion Hotel is an amazing place which, although refurbished retains its old-style charm. Room was stunning with a Canopy Bed, although the view was uninspiring. Bathromm was huge, I can't say anymore than just huge! Restaurant was... more
