We booked two nights for my brothers birthday a few months ago. Room was filthy, sheets were dirty, bed was broken, bathroom was wet and covered in bugs, room was freezing. The place was so rancid we didn't stay a second night. Owners ignored our request for a refund.

I attended the Ashiana with a small party on a week night and was thoroughly impressed both with the service and the food. Drinks and meals were prompt and good value for money. The starters were light and delicately spiced and wet the appetite perfectly for our main courses which again were perfectly balanced and clearly expertly prepared, certainly much more... More

I stayed here for one night only, but booked for 2. Unfortunately I had to go because I had been sick after eating in the restraunt the night before. I haden't eaten anything else that day so I'm 99% sure it was from the food. I was sick from 3am until the next afternoon. Needless to say it ruined my... More

Stayed one night end September. Met by a very friendly receptionist and directed to our room. The room was clean, spacious as was the bathroom. Everything you need for a one night stay. But, the restuarant was absolutely brilliant. Beautifully furnished and decorated. Friendly, attentive staff and the food was excellent. A great menu and reasonably priced. We would recommend... Stayed here for two nights whilst attending an event at Newark Showground. I was quite surprised when I arrived to be asked for some form of ID, despite the fact I had booked and paid for the room in advance. The room was large with two double beds and big ensuite bathroom. However it was not in the best state... More

Rooms were large and clean. It's location means you can hear the occasional trains and cars. Reasonable value, but it's main selling point is location. Apart from the restaurant on site, there is a very good pub in the local village (need to drive to it) called the Ferry.

The hotel is right by the A1 and the main line railway and so there is quite a bit of external noise. I didn't notice any when in the room and doors/windows shut. The rooms is large with all you need. Although the windows have a black out the external door has a fanlight window which lets in the day... More

We arrived after the allotted check in time to fine doors locked and no one around. When we were finally seen they had no knowledge of our booking (we had gone through booking.com) We paid for a family room and only got a double, when I asked of breakfast was included in the price I was told there were tea...
