Spent just one night of a two night business trip in this hotel before leaving in disgust next morning. Good points - friendly staff, good breakfast. Bad points - terribly neglected. Dirty room and bathroom Curtains couldn't be shut, some door locks didn't work. Manager indicated we should not use the public bar because of the people using it (?)... More

I had no choice but to stay here as an incident caused my own home to become unavailable , arriving at the hotel I could tell it wasn't as nice as I thought it was. When I got to my room it was freezing as there is no central heating and there were stains on the floor covered by patches... More

I stayed here 20 odd years ago and the place was fantastic. Bear this in mind, travelling into Mansfield by train, this is the first pub-hotel you would see. Walk into the pub for a quick pint and you are met by what can only be described as everyone who has ever been on the Jeremy Kyle show. Don't get... More

Stayed for two nights on business. Room was clean, owners and staff very friendly. Nice bar with a wide range of choice and very rasonably priced. Breakfast (full English) and evening meal both good size portions and of good quality. A good independant hotel. Will visit again.

I Booked this hotel as it is close to the theatre where we were going to see a show. Very pleased with location as we traveled by train and the hotel was next to the station. Upon checking into the hotel I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday and I was taking her to see a show and the... More

What a huge dissapointment when I arrived at the hotel I booked with breakfast and was told on arrival that I had no breakfast included but had to pay cash upfront on arrival and by doing this I would recieve breakdast free of charge. Damp smell throught the place. My room was standered but gobsmacked when I saw what I... More

Dirty smelly room., Went for breakfast at 8.00am and nobody to be seen. Went to reception, rang the bell 4 times for attention(as advised on reception desk). Nobody turned up to either see what I wanted or to check me out. Awful place. At least the Stags won.

This hotel was booked purely on the basis of it's location, that being directly opposite Mansfield train station and equidistant between two venues we would be using over the course of the weekend. In that respect, the hotel was perfect, in every other respect it was severely lacking. Everything about it is tired and run-down, it is dingy, dusty, damp... More
