We were staying at Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest, which is about 2 mile away (review on tripadvisor), but decided to look at other places to eat outside the expensive complex. We found this place a short drive away, it looked inviting, and being lunchtime I was a bit hungry, so we gave it ago. The décor was warm and friendly,... More

I was travelling in a group of 11 golfers., and we chose the Dukeries Lodge because it was convenient for Sherwood Forest and Hollinwell golf clubs. They had a number of twin and single rooms which was ideal for our group. The prices were very keen. After a rather laborious checking in process, everything ran very smoothly. I had asked... More

This lodge is okay, nothing brilliant, it is what all middle road hotels in the UK used to be like - there is a faded grandeur. We stayed for two nights, the menu is Harvester type pub fare. The room was small and bizarrely shaped with pillars in the middle, but to be fair you couldn't describe it as bland.... More

Having had recently to stop at several cheaper chain hotels for work I must admit I was disappointed with the decoration and overall quality of the bedroom accommodation encountered here during the stop here on a family occasion given the price paid. Not only was the room cold but it had a general run down feel - The use of... More

Stayed just for 1 night at the Dukeries Lodge, the room was small but bed was huge and comfy, despite being above a bar and restaurant it was quiet peaceful. The breakfast was great and the staff were Ist class. Recommended for overnight stay.

6 of us stayed 4 nights in May, Monday to Thursday at Dukeries Lodge for our annual golf tour. For the price paid the rooms were excellent and the breakfasts were superb. The waitress proved that she had a very good memory for our breakfast choices. The Timothy Taylor's beer was excellent until the barrel run out early in the week.... More

I have now had the pleasure of staying at the Dukeries on a number of occasions and feel qualified to make an honest assessment of my time there. I would first like to say that everyone has a right to their personal opinion and also the right to go onto review sites like this and make public their opinions but... More

The room we stayed in was very dark, distasteful decor. There was very little room to move around the bed so much so we tripped on the bed valance a few times. Generally dirty, especially the windows, skirtings and bathroom which had mould everywhere. Food was really good and good value for money. Shame that the bar and restaurant areas... More

Having been here on previous occasions and not been particularly impressed (more with the service than the food). Tonight we had two rump steaks and a bottle of wine for £17.50! Who could complain at that deal? The normal red wine was out of stock so the barman found me another. A lovely red wine with perfectly cooked steaks (properly... More

Having stayed here for one night ahead of a relaxing spa day at centre parcs I can whole heartily say I would not recommend the place! We arrived at 9.15pm due to traffic and were met by 3 staff chatting at the reception desk, we were not given the sole attention of any until shown to our room. The room... More
