Housed our group well, the accommodation is impossible to fault and our 3 rooms were situated perfectly. The rooms we're very clean and the facilities we're very good, the service in the dining area could be improved due to an order being wrong but overall extremely good service, accommodation and just an all round faultless hotel.

The Forest Lodge Hotel is an excellent base for touring the local Sherwood Forest area. The Major Oak is nearby and Robin Hood's church is just across the road. Clean and comfy rooms, friendly service and good food. Secure storage for your bike is a plus, too.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for our sons wedding. Our daughter and partner also stayed. The rooms were very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and very efficient. I would especially like to mention Sam, who greeted us on our arrival, with a pleasant friendliness that made us feel comfortable from the start. Anything we asked for was... More

Stayed for three nights to use as a base for touring the area. Our room was a good size and very clean. The food was of an exceptional quality. Breakfast was cooked to order (a particular recommendation is the eggs benedict!) There were five real ales to choose from (including local guest brews). We'll be back!

Booked here for a nearby wedding. Rooms are nice and not too expensive. We had a good quality sleep and the breakfasts were very nice. Shame we did not have the opertunity to eat there the night before (due to the wedding) as the menu and food looked great. It is also a proper real ale pub with lots of... More

This is a great hotel with good service. Breakfast is fantastic and well presented. Room was very clean with lots of space. I stayed with my two kids who enjoyed it very much and were really happy with the friendly staff. I would love to come back here again.

Stayed one night with our 6 year old boy We got the triple room which was large, modern and spotless. If I'm being fussy I suppose a fridge would have been nice but hotel staff more than happy to put our perishable stuff in their fridge Food great and good value. Real ale served in the pub was delicious. Staff... More

Myself and my godmother like to think of ourselves as ladies who lunch, and decided to meet in Edwinstowe today as a halfway point (she lives in Retford, I live in Nottingham). We had been here once a couple of years ago and remembered enjoying it, so decided to pay another visit, this time with my daughter as well. We... More

We were recommended to eat here by a friend and having also read the recent reviews on trip advisor we were really looking forward to a superb evening out for my husbands birthday. Whilst the food was mostly good there were quite a few minor things that let the restaurant down and would be really easy to fix. The waitress... More

Thanks for your comments which I take on board. We do train our staff but clearly, as far as you are concerned, this was an 'off night' and for that I can only apologise. Did you raise the issues with our restaurant manager? I have no record of anybody having done so and your review came as something of a... More
