I booked my daughter and granddaughter into Forest Lodge for one night recently whilst on a visit to see us in this in the area. My daughter travels a lot in her work and has stayed at some of the best establishments all over the country and abroad. She has asked me to write this review as follows from her... More

Having recently moved to this area we are trying all the eating establishments gradually but this is unequivocally the very best so far, my husbands birthday so I was on tenterhooks that they got everything right, I needn't have worried, the ambience, the service, the exquisite food, the superb wine, pleasantly surprised by the final bill! even the other customers... The room was nice and clean and benefited from a comfortable sofa, which was a good addition to the room. The breakfast is good and the evening meal that we had was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. Two things let it down, the wifi doesn't work and the room was noisy. I didn't mind the noise from the... More

Thanks for the kind review. A couple of comments: 1. Our (free of charge) WiFi does usually work! If it didn't work for a period during this reviewer's stay, perhaps the signal had dropped out for some reason; or possibly there was an issue with capacity, if lots of people were using it at the same time. 2. Housed our group well, the accommodation is impossible to fault and our 3 rooms were situated perfectly. The rooms we're very clean and the facilities we're very good, the service in the dining area could be improved due to an order being wrong but overall extremely good service, accommodation and just an all round faultless hotel.

The Forest Lodge Hotel is an excellent base for touring the local Sherwood Forest area. The Major Oak is nearby and Robin Hood's church is just across the road. Clean and comfy rooms, friendly service and good food. Secure storage for your bike is a plus, too.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for our sons wedding. Our daughter and partner also stayed. The rooms were very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and very efficient. I would especially like to mention Sam, who greeted us on our arrival, with a pleasant friendliness that made us feel comfortable from the start. Anything we asked for was... More

Stayed for three nights to use as a base for touring the area. Our room was a good size and very clean. The food was of an exceptional quality. Breakfast was cooked to order (a particular recommendation is the eggs benedict!) There were five real ales to choose from (including local guest brews). We'll be back!

Booked here for a nearby wedding. Rooms are nice and not too expensive. We had a good quality sleep and the breakfasts were very nice. Shame we did not have the opertunity to eat there the night before (due to the wedding) as the menu and food looked great. It is also a proper real ale pub with lots of... More

This is a great hotel with good service. Breakfast is fantastic and well presented. Room was very clean with lots of space. I stayed with my two kids who enjoyed it very much and were really happy with the friendly staff. I would love to come back here again.

Stayed one night with our 6 year old boy We got the triple room which was large, modern and spotless. If I'm being fussy I suppose a fridge would have been nice but hotel staff more than happy to put our perishable stuff in their fridge Food great and good value. Real ale served in the pub was delicious. Staff... More
