Came here just before Xmas for Sunday lunch. Good value at £16.95 for 3 courses. Reasonable choice from the fixed price menu with option to choose specials at a supplement. Arrived early but that was no problem for them. As the inn was busy we ate in the bar rather than the restaurant. Bar atmosphere was fine, and food &... More

We have visited this place as a group (+ 40 people) for the last few years and always found everything to be very good hence why we keep returning. Unfortuately we did not have a great experience yesterday and I doubt that we will be returning next year. We were booked into the 2nd restaurant sitting at 2.30pm so spent... More

As the reviewer says, her group has held Christmas events with us for the last few years and, to my knowledge, they have always been a great success. As for this one, the actual organisers have not been in touch with us to raise concerns and to say that they will not be returning next year. The reviewer has obviously... More

We had a marvellous meal, plenty of choice in various price ranges. We mostly chose the a la carte menu and it was worth every penny. The service was prompt and our waitress was delightful. Cannot review the accommodation as we only visited for lunch

Well... This is another place which, in my opinion, mostly relies onto the location. I mean, all in all is not that bad, but still... Pros: location (a nice hydillic town just by the sherwood forest, pretty well linked to nottingham considering the distance), very friendly and helpful staff, tasty english breakfast, newly furnished ensuite rooms with flatscreen, hairdryer and... Thank you for your positive comments on your review. As per the burger, I'm sorry you didn't like it, but I'm even more sorry that you didn't mention anything to us. Had you told us that you would have liked toppings we would have been more than happy to serve whatever you fancied. As for the fries, well it's the... More

Great location for any occasion with convenient road-links to all of Nottinghamshire or the surrounding areas. Also a great part of the country with interesting things to see and do right on your doorstep and only the short distance to the Nottingham.

Really nice room and good value. Ate in the bar as it was a Sunday night but limited menu was still very good. We had the roast beef which was very nice and the beef and ale pie which was very tasty. The good reviews for the breakfast is very well deserved.

We booked my 60th birthday party at Forest Lodge having previously had my Mothers 80th birthday party here 6 years ago. We can honestly say that the same excellent standards have been maintained. The venue is perfect and the staff are the best!! Nothing too much trouble, and Sam in particular, went out of her way to make everything run... More

I have spent another five nights here spread across the the past fortnight. As always it has been a very enjoyable stay, the rooms have been comfortable and the food excellent, in fact I have just finished one of the best steaks I have eaten in a long time. Hence I'm typing this from the bar whilst enjoying a pint... More

Had a lovely evening here for Aunty Von ' s 80th birthday, the setting was lovely, the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. As a coeliac I'm always wary of buffets but I really enjoyed my meal of salmon & new potatoes with salad, delicious. My little girl could only find carrot sticks to her fancy so the... More
