I call in to this hotel whenever I am staying in Wooler, I usually have my dogs with me and they are made as welcome as me. In colder seasons there is always a crackling fire in the grate. Nice pub food as well

This place is just the job and 6 of us returned for a repeat weekend visit. The relaxed and traditional atmosphere hides the enormous amount of 'behind the scenes' work that goes on to make guests feel welcomed, comfortable, incredibly well-fed and happy to be there. The 'Breakfast Girls' are supremely good and seem to be there all the time... More

I was taking part in a cycling sportive and needed a good meal the evening before and a comfortable bed. I got both. And more. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The dining area was cosy but not cloying. I had the best bar meal I have ever had. One constructive point- not a criticism, but an observation... More

Just popped in with a big family party for an evening meal. Very welcoming and friendly, big menu, good value pub food - all ages 6 - 72 - catered to and happy. Would certainly recommend it if you are in the neighbourhood.

The Tankerville Arms Hotel is situated beside the river. It is a lovely 17th century Coach-house/ Restaurant. We enjoyed staying here as it was very clean and well maintained. We settled into our lovely room and went downstairs to have a beer. We had the tomato and basil soup, followed by Roast Camembert, salad and cranberry jelly. Very tasty. Nice... More

Adequate rooms, 1980s decor but functional, in a lovely old building, adequate breakfast, service adequate, dinner quite good (good quality meat, nice puddings, but let down by the over-cooked veg).
