Had an OK stay, room really shabby. Quaint old building, nice staff. Reasonable prices at the bar. Absolutely tiny breakfast served on a plate not much bitter than a Tea Plate. TV not working which was not the end of the world but when reported to reception did nothing. Wont hurry back.

Had our wedding there on march 13th 2015. The ceremony, daytime reception and evening do. The registrars were fantastic and calming. Anne and Duncan from the Tankerville were absolutely superb. Nothing too much trouble. The meal was excellent. Linens matching our colours. Staff friendly. Evening disco, delightfully cheesey. Hog roast at night was amazing. Sweetie cart n chair covers by... Just returned from a weekend in the hotel. A charming 400 year old coaching inn. Yes it might be a bit frayed around the edges. So would I be if I was that age. It's charming, quirky, welcoming, warm & friendly. The staff were a delight. We had our 4 month old daughter with us and the staff could not... More

We stayed a Sunday night here last July, so I'm a bit late with my review but I've only just joined Trip Advisor. I have been waiting for a chance to let rip at the appalling food and service we had for our Sunday lunch at this hotel. Let me start by saying that we were very pleasantly surprised by... More

This is an old hotel and a bit tired so if you want electronic door entry and automatic lights and that sort of stuff look somewhere else! The room we stayed in was in need of redecoration but the bed was comfy and clean. The bathroom was a bit cramped but was also clean. We slept well as it was as... More

Although the room was a bit dated, the bed was very comfy (more so than the bed I had at the Novotel the two previous nights which was very foamy), plus the room was extremely clean. The staff friendly enough and the food, although not haute cuisine, was more than adequate - and yummy. For the price I was more... More

Just on our way home from a 2 nights break. Our rooms were huge, with comfortable beds and a proper bathroom. We had dinner on both nights as well as breakfast. The food was good along with great service. Yes, some of the decor is dated but it's a fabulous old building with all the quirks that go along with... More

Excellent value with one of the D B and B deals at £79 per night. Rooms are a bit dated but fine for a short stay, the food was really good but could do with a few real ales in the bar. Only real criticism was the continuous playing of Neil Diamonds greatest hits on repeat, it was on when... More

I've used this friendly and homely hotel/bar/restaurant for lunch on a number of cycling events. Top quality ales, wholesome and hearty meals and friendly service. Big car park and beer garden patio make this place a great overnight stop for visiting Northumberland or a nice rest stop on travelling through.
