After travelling for an hour and a half we were looking for a toilet-break - and a coffee. And we found both at the Tankerville: staff we're friendly and welcoming and, the coffee? WOW - brilliant, and just £3.50 for the coffee AND a superb home-made (huge) cake.

Stayed last night at this hotel . I dislike to give negative reviews but was very dissappointed with the standard of this hotel .I found the grounds spacious and well maintained with a large car park to rear. The room didn't offer value for money as the condition was well below what I would expect for £100 a night .the... More

We had a three night stay with dinner on the first night, steak done to perfection and gammon lovely and not too salty. Full Northumberland breakfast was good as were the Craster kippers. Room was small but adequate and spotlessly clean.(we were told that the larger rooms were being refurbished while we were there) (redecoration and new carpets). The gentleman... More

really enjoye our stay spent 6 nights at this peaceful hotel, food not to bad, good choice of food at breakfast but found better evening meals for same price elsewhere. Kept a good pint but no local northumbrian ales.service was good all staff friendly and welcoming. The older style of the hotel suited us as we are not city slickers.... More

Excellent hotel for work. Friendly, welcoming staff. Clean, well equipped rooms. Good food and drink. Perfect if you're looking for somewhere to properly unwind. The tankerville is an excellent model for the way a hotel should be run

Hotel looks lovely from outside but inside, horrible smell, dated, tired and I was quite shocked at the size of the room and the state of the bathroom - Ive stayed in more pleasant hostels in Dublin City Centre. Room was not worth half of the £100 a night we paid and im sure any of the staff would expect more... More

We've stayed here previously - and been happy; we liked the relaxed feel and older style. But much more care needs to be taken in the management of the hotel. We stayed four nights in a pleasant room. But the Saturday they had a wedding and yes, we were in a room over the dining hall with a disco till... More

Hello. I do apologise. Time has passed me by and I havent called you. I will rectify this. You may have noticed when you checked in that I spent a lot of time rubbing and moving people. This was because I was trying to get you into Room 3, nice spacious room at the back, and very quiet. I totally... More

Spent the night as a stop over en route from Edinburgh back home. Having left the booking fairly late we had limited choice for hotels but the Tankerville had a room. Thought it was a bit expensive but our fault for booking last minute. It's a fairly typical pub/hotel with a nice cosy bar and fire. We didn't eat but... More

This place really needs a makeover very badly. The paint is peeling all over the outside and the inside is very gloomy. Beer is good, and the garden is nice to sit in when the sun is out. The big notice on the door says they only take cash and cheques, no cards, which is a real hassle as the... More
