Found this en route to St Andrews from Suffolk. A lovely warm reception from the staff especially the owners son sat in the bar area. On his recommendation we shared a beautiful coronation chicken sandwich served with some wonderful chips Great recommendation thank you

Room was comfortable and the service was good. Breakfast was good and the packed lunches adequate. The evening meals were variable, especially the main course. Good base to explore Northumberland. Good walks on the the Cheviot Hills starting from the Hotel so no need to use the car. Near to Holy Island and Seahouses for the Farne Islands. Anwick and... More

Been for 3 nights it's a nice place, needs some TLC the rooms are very dated we has no 2. The bed was rock hard like sleeping on a concrete slab. We ate there first night food was beautiful no complaints. Breakfast was lovely but cutlery was dirty. It's run on minimum cover so reception, bar and food same person! We... More

We stayed for 4 nights at the hotel, great base to get around Northumberland. Very quirky and yes a little tired but couldn't fault the staff who are very friendly and helpful. We had a large room, which was cleaned every day with fresh sheets and towels, but could do with a little decorating. Do agree that full cooked breakfast... More

We stayed one night when walking the Inn Way. The Tankerville Arms Hotel is on a main road going out of Wooler, not in the centre, but its a good pub with friendly staff serving average pub food; just what we wanted!

Had an OK stay, room really shabby. Quaint old building, nice staff. Reasonable prices at the bar. Absolutely tiny breakfast served on a plate not much bitter than a Tea Plate. TV not working which was not the end of the world but when reported to reception did nothing. Wont hurry back.

Had our wedding there on march 13th 2015. The ceremony, daytime reception and evening do. The registrars were fantastic and calming. Anne and Duncan from the Tankerville were absolutely superb. Nothing too much trouble. The meal was excellent. Linens matching our colours. Staff friendly. Evening disco, delightfully cheesey. Hog roast at night was amazing. Sweetie cart n chair covers by... Just returned from a weekend in the hotel. A charming 400 year old coaching inn. Yes it might be a bit frayed around the edges. So would I be if I was that age. It's charming, quirky, welcoming, warm & friendly. The staff were a delight. We had our 4 month old daughter with us and the staff could not... More

We stayed a Sunday night here last July, so I'm a bit late with my review but I've only just joined Trip Advisor. I have been waiting for a chance to let rip at the appalling food and service we had for our Sunday lunch at this hotel. Let me start by saying that we were very pleasantly surprised by... More
