The Good Lady booked the Tankerville Arms for her birthday weekend trip for us to Northumberland - mainly I think because it looked pleasant, did evening meals and we could take the dog. Arriving on a chilly, wet evening the room felt a little cold but soon warmed up and couldn't fault the full size bath with separate shower, 46-47"... More

How disappointing! My sister and I go to the Wooler area every first week in November - I'm an artist and love the autumn colours in the beautiful Northumberland and Borders countryside, and we start our 'serious' Christmas shopping in the many quirky and individual gift shops in Wooler, Kelso, Jedburgh and Teviot regions. This is the first, and probably... More

We recently moved into the area and decide to try the Tankerville arms. We entered through the front entrance which is the hotel reception area. As we only wanted a drink we went into the first room that looked like a bar, there were customers eating or ordering a meals. As I was not familiar with the lay out of... More

We had booked into another inn/hotel but upon viewing the poor state of the place we had decided not to stay. This left us with nowhere to stay at 17.30 hours- in the dark - and not knowing what else was available in the area. A scan of TripAdvisor revealed a fair choice in the area and we selected "Tankerville... More

I call in to this hotel whenever I am staying in Wooler, I usually have my dogs with me and they are made as welcome as me. In colder seasons there is always a crackling fire in the grate. Nice pub food as well

This is a delightful coach house hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the food was excellent,we stayed for three nights and has breakfast and dinner each day. In a very good position to visit the Northumbria coastline. Overall we had a wonderful stay

This place is just the job and 6 of us returned for a repeat weekend visit. The relaxed and traditional atmosphere hides the enormous amount of 'behind the scenes' work that goes on to make guests feel welcomed, comfortable, incredibly well-fed and happy to be there. The 'Breakfast Girls' are supremely good and seem to be there all the time... More

I was taking part in a cycling sportive and needed a good meal the evening before and a comfortable bed. I got both. And more. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The dining area was cosy but not cloying. I had the best bar meal I have ever had. One constructive point- not a criticism, but an observation... More

Just popped in with a big family party for an evening meal. Very welcoming and friendly, big menu, good value pub food - all ages 6 - 72 - catered to and happy. Would certainly recommend it if you are in the neighbourhood.
