Its some time since I've stayed at a less accommodating hotel than the Ryecroft. We were met at 9.05 on Saturday morning by the hotel manager with a curt 'breakfast has finished', followed at 10.50 on Sunday by his knocking on every door and asking loudly 'are you ready to leave yet?'. Terrifyingly dated decor in the bedroom, a room also featuring the world's oldest and also smallest double bed.. A shower so feeble we'd have more chance of getting a wash had we just opened the windows and hoped for rain..
