Its some time since I've stayed at a less accommodating hotel than the Ryecroft. We were met at 9.05 on Saturday morning by the hotel manager with a curt 'breakfast has finished', followed at 10.50 on Sunday by his knocking on every door and asking loudly 'are you ready to leave yet?'. Terrifyingly dated decor in the bedroom, a room also featuring the world's oldest and also smallest double bed.. A shower so feeble we'd have more chance of getting a wash had we just opened the windows and hoped for rain.. The tiny tv was welded to the wall, and only received four channels.. all of varying degress of static..Even the... more

Ryecroft Hotel Wooler Aug 2006 We enjoyed our stay at the Ryecroft. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellant and served in lovely surroundings.
