Let me explain that title. We wanted to visit Keilder Water, some 45 miles from home, but as we drive a Nissan Leaf (totally electric car) we would have to charge up to be able to get back home. The Pheasant Inn provides two 7Kw chargers free, and when I rang Robin to book lunch and ask if we could... More

Booked for Sunday lunch 2 weeks ago, Ham Hock for starters.....delicious so delicious we could eat that as a main course if it was available! 1 x roast lamb - my husband opted for that as last time I had it and he had a taste and thought it top notch and again it was, I went off the usual... More

The actual pub is very nice and in a lovely setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful but we thought that the food was average. We had the steak and kidney pie which isn't actually a pie, it's meat in a dish with a small piece of pastry on top. We also had the Ploughman's lunch which I thought... More

Excellent food, and the beer's not bad either ! Way out in the middle of nowhere, but close to Kielder Water, a marvellous small B&B/inn with small but beautiful rooms. Ideal for exploring Northumberland National Park, Hadrians Wall, and the Kielder Observatory (our reason for staying).

What a relaxing place, the accommodation was comfortable (especially the beds), the staff were efficient and helpful. The breakfasts were plentiful and also with lots of choice. Because of its location it was where we ate our evening meal too, and this was well cooked and presentable with some interesting choices on the menu. This is not a pie and... More

A combination of a gorgeous homely setting, friendly service, and incredible food makes this place the perfect cosy visit for any foodie who enjoys a warm and friendly atmosphere. I visited on a Saturday evening with 2 friends during our stay in the area (at the strong recommendation of our hotel owner that we pay a visit) and was blown... More

Stayed in this lovely pub for 3 nights. Our room was clean and well presented. As I am disabled I requested a ground floor room which was provided, unfortunately as this was not a disabled bathroom I was unable to use the shower but the view from the window more than made up for it. The bed was comfortable however... More

Fantastic visit, beautiful location, friendly-family run with amazing food. The accommodation is well presented, varied visitors stay here to see the observatory, wildlife and walking. Easy access to Kielder Water and surrounding areas. Food is amazing - we ate away one night but returned for all of our remaining meals.

I was working nearby and asked my client if there was anywhere nearby I could get lunch. My wife was with me(school teacher on holiday and fancied a run out). The pheasant inn was recommended. We duly called in. A very traditional inn which retains all of the character you would expect. Service with a smile as we sat down... More
