We have eaten at the pheasant on three occasions while visiting kielder and each time has been excellent. The food and service are both great. We have been just as a couple and also with our young family. They were really accommodating of our daughters and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back again.

We had booked a late night at The Kielder Observatory and needed a local hotel, we had a real helpful response from Robin the manager at The Pheasant, so we booked up for the night. We were not at all disappointed. We stayed in Room 1 which was a family room with double bed and 2 bunk beds, it had... More

We stayed at the Pheasant Inn on Thursday 16th April courtesy of MotoGoLoco and the BMW Club as part of a motorcycling trip. It was absolutely excellent, the owner and staff were very welcoming and efficient. Our room was first class with some very nice extra touches. The food was excellent. All in all a very good experience and we... More

We stayed for two nights, our first time in Northumberland and it did not disappoint. The location of the Pheasant was perfect for a relaxing time or exploring the picturesque local countryside. Our room overlooked the fields to the front with sheep and birds being the only sounds. The bar and restaurant were very good, the food was delicious and... More

What a find. Brilliant location for everything Kielder has to offer (including being reasonably close to the Observatory) and a really lovely place to stay. The standard of the room we were in (No.2) was very high. It was warm, comfortable and spotless clean. We stayed two nights and eat our evening meals in the hotel. Both were superb. Absolutely... We were up in Kielder for a stargazing session at the Observatory, and the Pheasant Inn was one of the recommended places to stay. We only stayed for one night, but had a great experience. The staff were lovely, the rooms were comfortable and the pub itself is fantastic - very cosy. The best bit however, was the food. We... More

My wife and I recently visited the Kielder Observatory and stayed at the Pheasant. The booking process was simple, the check-in was very easy, the food was tremendous and the room was very good. It was in what appeared to be converted farm buildings. The room was perhaps on the snug side but was very well appointed, very characterful, as... More

My family ( myself, wife & 4 year old son ) had a meal here last week and where not over whelmed. We booked a table for 19:30 clearly stating I had a child. When we turned up and gave our name in we where looked at like we had 2 heads! We where eventually seated next to the bar... More

Visited recently for dinner. Food was lovely but atmosphere was somewhat lacking. When we first arrived the place was almost silent with only the sound of cutlery on plates filling the air. Great menu to chose from, I had the mushrooms with puff pastry for starter which was delicious. Slow braised lamb was the obvious (spring) choice and it was... More

Many thanks for your review. Living out in the wilds our broad band is very temperamental hence the remark but I am sure it was given tongue in cheek and not offensively. We stream our background music as well and it does disappear from time to time which may explain the quiet spell once there are a few people in... More
