I stayed here for four nights with two friends while walking the Northumberland and Berwickshire Coast paths. Linda is a charming and friendly hostess and cooks up excellent hearty brekkies with most of the produce sourced locally. Have the duck eggs if available, they are big and tasty. Spittal is a quiet seaside part of Berwick. There are no restaurants... More

Do not expect modern luxury as this is an older house with rugs on floorboards in the bedrooms gaps between floorboards & skirting boards & other things one associates with older property. Lots of plants & “Nick-nacks” in the different rooms inc the bedroom. There were 2 friendly dogs making it unsuitable if one does not like dogs. Friendly couple... More

My partner and I stayed at Caroline House for one night as we were visiting Berwick to attend an event at the Maltings. As we live in North Tyneside, we just needed somewhere to lay our heads that night before travelling home the next day, but once we arrived we wished that we had longer to enjoy both Caroline House... We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome. The en-suite room was luxury itself and Linda always met our needs and cooked us the perfect breakfast. The venue is very close to local amenities and the beach is just a couple of minutes walk from this lovely guest house. Linda is very informed about the area and the advice she... More

My wife and I stayed at this b&b for two nights midweek. We received a very warm welcome from Linda (the owner) and were shown to our quite large well equipped room on the 1st floor, the large double bed was warm and comfortable, the room had TV with free view, free wi fi,tea and coffee making facilities +games and puzzles... A sterile, bland hotel chain this certainly isn't, but that adds to the charm of this little gem of a B and B tucked away a few short steps from the magnificent Northumberland beach. The welcolme is genuine, helpful to a fault and our twin bedded room offered comfortable beds with good quality duvets in warm well equipped accommodation with... More

LOCATION This B&B is located in Spittals, a satellite town which is a poorer suburb of Berwick-upon-Tweed. It is not by the sea and you certainly cannot see it , but you can walk to the promenade a few blocks away. There is no private parking but there are usually car parks along the side of the road. BEDROOM I... More

We stayed here on the way back from the Commonwealth Games and spent a few days in the lovely town of Berwick on Tweed. It's about a mile walk into the town but has the benefit of a lovely beach where you can exercise your dog and is also on the L S Lowry trail. WE stayed in the room... More

We received a very warm welcome to this lovely house. Very large and comfortable twin room at the front. Private bathroom across the landing, don't let this put you off, it's yours, large, excellent shower. Breakfast to order in the conservatory / garden room, really good start to the day, the environment makes you smile. Bus stop right outside, buses... More

A lovely B&B and ideally placed for travellers from further south on their way to Scotland. Edinburgh is just another 65 miles and so easy to undertake after a nice rest in this lovely house. Although not much to do in Spittal itself (unless it's mid-summer and you wish to visit the fabulous beach), you can easily walk to Berwick... More
