At £116 per couple per night, you would expect a lot more for your money. This is a seriously overpriced hotel who even charge you for your morning newspaper! The bed was too soft, we couldn't get the digital box to work on the TV, bathroom toiletries very basic and the noise from the pub below could be heard well... more

I chose tostay in this hotel with my mother and 3 sisters after visiting the pub on a previous visit to Northumberland. Three of us stayed in the Bungalow and two in the hotel. The hotel is ideally suited for touring the Northumberland Coast. It has fantastic views over the harbour to the Farne Islands. The staff are very friendly.... more

The Olde Ship Inn is really something worth seeing. We stayed one night, dinner, B+B, on a bit of a city-escape. Seahouses has a lovely harbour and is close to some of the most spectacular bits of Northumberland. The bar is a lively place with a huge amount of seafaring memorabilia everywhere. The food is pretty standard stuff - no... more

Hi all I decided to dive with the seals around Farne Island so picked this place for a 1 night stay B&B We had a 4 poster in room 5 and it was outstandingly good. I didnt manage breakfast because my boat set off early but my lovely wife said it was very nice indeed. The staff were friendly and... more

We went to this hotel for a meal when we stayed at Beadnell Bay - it was a 20 minute walk from Beadnell but we are glad that we did. The meal was excellent and the service was really frinendly. Great value for money. It had a superb beer garden with a gate - so that the children could not... more

Recent reviews seem overly harsh based on our experience although we did not eat in restaurant except for breakfast, which was excellent. We had a bar meal which was the good side of adequate if uninspired. Everywhere was very clean even with memorabilia clutter. We stayed in harbour view annex which we liked hugely. All staff very friendly and location... more

There seems to be a consensus among other reviewers that the staff are excellent, the location is first class, but the restaurant is very poor. With all of that, I agree. The staff could not be more helpful or more welcoming. The harbour location is first class. But the whole operation is let down by the restaurant. The tables are... more

I can only agree with others. This Pub/Hotel is getting away with it because of where it is and not what it is or the food. The bar has great character and is it's saving grace but don't be deceived into thinking that the customers are locals. If they are they are well heeled ones straight off the Golf Course! The only local... more

Having read some of the previous reviews I approached the Olde Ship with an open mind but having stayed for one night I would have to say that the Hotel/Pub offers fairly basic accomodation which is probably worth around £60-£65 but certainly not the £100 they currently charge. The pub itself is fine and full of character and and the... more

The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere in the pub was great and the beer excellent. However for the price: the breakfast was average (kippers good - full english poor with tinned mushrooms), the room small and the bed too soft. Everything was clean but at £100 per night for 2 people you can get so much more for your... more
