This is an extremely comfortable and pleasant Bed &Breakfast with very welcoming hosts. Lovely room, great bathroom with lashings of hot water, warm, comfy beds, and a great breakfast. What more could you want?

What a fabulous place to stay. The welcome was as warm as anyone could wish for. We were on a walking holiday and there was a place to store our dirty boots just off the hallway. The room was really nice and comfortable and well-equipped. We were also delighted to find two slices of home-made cake awaiting us in our... More

Impossible to add much to other reviewers who rightly praise this well-run, hospitable B&B in the centre of town. Large and well-furnished room with great bathroom (bath and shower) and toiletries provided. Home-made cake a bonus. Good breakfast selection, well-prepared and nicely presented. Ideal after a day of walking and another to come.

Our first trip to Scotland and we wanted to see some of Northumberland enroute. We certainly struck it lucky when we stayed for 2 nights at the Malabar. Immaculate and friendly we couldn't have found a better B&B i'm sure. We had the family room which was spacious with a good size ensuite. Moira and Brian certainly have what it... More

Of the two owners Moira is the one who does the decorating! Brian ensures the bathrooms shine. They turned this house into a B&B some years ago and the standard of decoration and bathroom shine is second to none. It is blemish free but they are not precious about it. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Location seems unlikely for... More

An unbelievable four night break at this exceptional guest house. The sign outside says 'Quality accommodation'. To my way of thinking it should say, 'Luxury accomodation'. This place is fantastic. I can't praise Moira and Brian enough for the way they keep house, are friendly and know a great deal about the area. Nothing is too much trouble for them... More

Just come back from a 3 night stay (Aug 2013) and wanting to go back already. Moira and Brian were perfect hosts. Stayed in the Ground floor room which was very clean, well arranged and bigger than we imagined and a very large comfy bed, plus cake in the room every day :) The breakfast menu was extensive and all...
