This is a beautifully and lovingly converted chapel situated about 10 minutes' walk from the harbour at Seahouses. It is ideally placed for exploring the wild coastlin in this area. The rooms are nicely decorated and the bed was really comfortable - a rarity in the world of hard-as rock B&B matresses. Fluffy white dressing gowns and a well-designed wet... more

Thanks for your comments. We put a lot of effort into choosing really good quality beds - it's so important isn't it?! Lots of people comment on how great they are, and we're glad you enjoyed yours.

Owing to last minute change of plans we desperately scanned the Internet for B & B accommodation in the Bamburgh area. Following a cancellation, we were fortunate to secure a booking for Fri/Sat night at St Cuthberts. Immediately upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the owners Jeff and Jill and soon provided with a most welcome cup of tea... more

We have just spent 5 wonderful October days, full board, on a Northumbrian Heritage holiday at St Cuthbert’s. Jill and Jeff are great hosts and have turned an old building into an amazingly successful guest-house! They’ve included too many thoughtful and personal touches to list them, so we suggest you could go there and try it out. It was lovely... more

Wonderful hospitality, beautifully decorated & warm room and a really yummy breakfast - thank you so much. The building is gorgeous and wonderfully renovated and decorated with all the home comforts and modern touches you'd want. Jeff and Jill were so kind and welcoming after I had cycled all day on the first of my 3 days cycling to Edinburgh... more

You did really well to arrive after your 'punctured' day made you late into the evening and the dark - and we're pleased you enjoyed some rest and refreshment for your journey.

Arriving at St Cuthbert’s House for a short stay in late September, we knew from the moment we were greeted by our hosts (along with a very welcome pot of tea!) that our choice of accommodation had turned out to be nothing less than inspired. Jeff & Jill have created a truly special place to unwind, beautifully appointed throughout, yet... more

St Cuthberts is an idyllic oasis of calm and excellent old fashioned hospitality on the wonderful Northumberland Coast, surely Britain's best kept secret. The service, facilities, food and help/advice is all first rate and nothing is too much trouble - you can even watch a DVD on a big screen in the lounge area if the mood takes you!! The... more

Thank you for your kind comments, we're glad you enjoyed your stay here at St Cuthbert's. We agree with what you say about the Northumberland coast, and Seahouses. We like being close enough (to walk to the Ship, primarily!) but far enough away too...

My husband treated me to a break at St Cuthbert's House to celebrate my special birthday - I won't give the exact number, but let's just say I won't have to worry about paying on the buses now! We had a wonderful stay - well, we knew we were going to feel at home when we saw a Morris Minor... more

First time we've had fellow Morris Minor enthusiasts staying with us! We're so pleased you enjoyed your birthday treat, and having your flowers 'piped in'. And - we found it very difficult to believe you were qualified for that bus pass! See you again soon.

We enjoyed a really relaxing time during our stay at St Cuthbert's. There was a real sense of friendliness and warmth, the rooms were so clean and comfortable and breakfasts filling! Set in such a lovely part of England you can't fail to be impressed. Add to that all the energy saving measures which have earned the Gold Green Business... more

I couldn't have chosen a better venue to take my wife for her 40th birthday! A very friendly and warm welcome on arrival by the hosts, Jill and Jeff - we were immediately made to feel relaxed and at home in what is a beautifully renovated building. The food and service were great. I had also asked for a birthday... more

That was a great birthday meal – the whole dining room joined in. Glad you enjoyed the pipes too.

For such a beautiful county, Northumberland has disappointingly few places to stay with excellent accomodation, good food and friendly service. St Cuthbert's scores very highly in all areas with very comfortable rooms appointed as well as some 5 star hotels, breakfasts and evening meals to satisfy all tastes and a level of service from Jeff and Jill and their family... more
