We certainly couldn't! An absolutely outstanding haven run in the way that would shame much more expensive and pretentious 'boutique hotels' What an amazing find. Enid and her team make you feel that you are family ( in a good sense) whilst allowing you to stay in what feels like an National trust setting and sample quite excellent food. All... More

We stayed here recently for two nights and had an amazing time. The staff are all so friendly and cannot do enough to help you. The breakfast is also amazing! We will definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone. More

I stayed at Thistleyhaugh for a week (my second visit), and thoroughly enjoyed it again - very comfortable, run by a lovely family who make guests very welcome (lots of repeat business - most of my fellow-guests were regulars). Enjoyed the food again (a set menu, unpretentious and well-cooked, mostly traditional main courses & desserts with slightly more modern starters),... More

We booked all five of Thistleyhaugh's rooms for our wedding guests. The guest house is on a working farm, and is some way off the main road, along country tracks, but it is worth every bump when you arrive! Everything about the guest house is emaculate, the rooms presented with anitques, these are not just for show. All of our... More

My husband and I stayed here for a friends wedding at the nearby Hall. I would recommend you follow the b&b's instructions on how to get there rather than use sat-nav as we did, which took us down an old very potholed back road to get there. We were shown to our beautifully decorated room by an exceptionally friendly Zoe,... More

We found this place in the Good Hotel Guide but it isn't a hotel, it is a farmhouse B&B and a superb one. It is in a remote location on a large working organic farm and is surrounded by cattlesheds, fields full of sheep, tractors, farm implements etc. On arrival we were greeted by our hostess, Enid, who was warm... The family make you feel completely comfortable and their hard work makes it so you can relax and meet and eat with the other guests. The breakfasts were great and suppers were perfect home cooking, sourced mainly from the farm - delicious. Its hard to find but if you are anywhere nearby, have a treat and stay there. More

Thistleyhaugh is a family run B&B. The rooms are furnished in an eclectic English style mixing antiques with art and antiques of all eras. The bedroom we occupied (Rose) and the public rooms were all spotless and very comfortable. Food is a real highlight. The focus is on locally sourced high quality produce. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice... More

we stayed at Thistleyhaugh for 3 nights and thought it was wonderful. Our two girls enjoyed the free run of the garden - with trampoline and dog. in particular our 9 year old enjoyed sitting in the garden chatting to Enid whilst keeping an eye on one of Enid's grandchildren in the pram. There are cows, pigs and chicken. The... More

We just spent a week at Enid's lovely organic b&b farm, in room Mary which was large and nicely decorated! the house was comfy and elegant as well; all the guests sat at the large communal table for meals. For Breakfast Enid served upon request deliciously moist smoked kippers with scrambled eggs. We had 2 dinners at home, very delicious,... More
