Long way to travel for birthday party but worth every mile. Stayed in 2007 and still same very high standard. It's a working, welcoming farm. Enjoy The best bed and breakfast we have stayed in for a long time

Enid and her daughter-in-law Zoe are charming hosts on this working farm producing organic meat of all types. Take the opportunity to visit the animals that are penned nearby. The room is comfortable, and the fresh milk provided for tea-making is a nice touch.

This place is distinctively different from anywhere I have stayed before. Thistleyhaugh is a very elegant farmhouse set in the middle of a large working organic farm. Enid is the lady in charge and her welcome and all round warmth and genuinely caring approach to guests made us feel relaxed and very special. It was lambing season, so we stroked... More

From the moment we arrived to a very warm welcome, to our departure two days later, we can only say how very much we enjoyed this beautiful farmhouse. Enid and Henry were the perfect hosts. The breakfasts were delicious, all freshly cooked to order - full Englsh, Craster kipper fillets, or a wide choice of cereals, home made preserves, etc.... More

This is one of the best ever experiences I have had in paid accommodation. It is a working farm, complete with livestock, sheds and fields. The ambience is rural, but real; not romantic and twee. The B and B is a beautifully upgraded building, in a lovely, landscaped garden. My room was single, but would be classified as a double... More

Enid is the perfect hostess, we were made very welcome. The farm is well off the beaten track so very quiet and peaceful. The bed was comfortable, the breakfasts were all individually cooked to perfection and the evening meals were lovely. The damson gin before dinner was a real treat. We were allowed to have a look around the farm... More

We have just returned from this fabulous farm B&B. Absolutely unique location, real Northumberland welcome and hospitality. Lovely old farmhouse, comfortable beds, and fantastic cooked breakfast. Run by the lovely Nelles family on their working organic farm. We stayed in the Rose room, which was really comfortable and so quiet and peaceful. This is the place if you want to... More

So comfortable, so welcoming. A wonderful place to stay - you won't find better. Truly rural, don't rely on satnav - follow the instructions on the website and don't worry - you'll get there eventually and it's worth it! Zoe so kind, hospitable and caring. We had Mary room (photo at top of Trip Adviser page) and it is excellent... More

Delightful sophistication in the middle of a working farm, so all the comforts you could wish for, but with the novelty of new-born lambs in plastic jackets and calves learning how to stand up, all around. So far off the beaten track you wonder how you found it, but beautiful when you get there, and surrounded by tranquillity. It's easy... More
