I love it here, good DBB rates, yes, standard rooms are a bit small, but its cheap enough to upgrade to a superior room. The grounds and building itself are beautiful, golf club is nearby and does good Sunday lunches. The hotel restaurant has a really varied menu, packed with local produce, and isnt overpriced for the standard you get.... more

I was given a tiny room with a bathroom from the 1970's, limited tv channels (7), basic bed and furniture, and the receptionist had the cheek to ask if I wanted to eat in their restaurant - at £28 for 3 courses, no thanks ! I can't understand how this Travel Lodge accommodation got such good reviews - there's a... more

We stayed for a long weekend break. Got a really good deal on three nights, and were amazed at how good it was for the price. It's clearly mostly geared to conferences, weddings etc, but managed not to be soulless or boring. The bedrooms were small and a bit of a hike from the entrance and public rooms, but were... more

We were a party of four stopping over for 1 night on the way to Edinburgh. Hotel was excellent, staff great and very helplful. We run out of milk in the room and asked at reception if we could have some more, by the time we had walked back to the room (a matter of 5 mins) extra milk had... more

Impressive historic Country House set in lovely location. Friendly welcome and staff could not do enough throughout the weekend. Tastefully furnished but not impressive. Standard room adequate for a weekend somewhat alacking in wardrobe space. Dining room a pleasant place to eat with large groups catered for elsewhere. Nice to see a note on the extensive menu that special dietary... more

Wanted a last minute deal and secured very competitive price the night before our arrival. Be warned some rooms, including ours, seemed miles away from the car park. No fun when dragging luggage up and down the corridors and stairs. The bar was sterile i.e no atmosphere and very expensive. Breakfast was "modest". They sliced the strawberries in half to... more

On driving through Morpeth, Put Hotel into the Navigator and the marvellous estate arrived in the windscreen at 5pm on a dark afternoon. The walk in rate of $65 included breakfast for us and the room was very confortable with a view in 2 directions of the grounds and wonderful old home. Breakfast was fantastic and service was wonderful, thanks... more

We stayed here in late December for one night only. The room was a standard double with ensuite. In my opinion, it was perfectly satisfactory for this short stay and I would be content to stay in that bedroom for atleast another few days. However, if I were coming for a week or more, I think that it would be... more

Stayed here for a few nights between Christmas and New Year and had a really great time. We got a really good deal for B&B and went for the superior room (the standard ones looked really small so would recommend upgrading). We were promised fluffy robes, fruit teas and hot chocolate...the robes weren't quite fluffy and no hot chocolate but... more
