This is a popular wedding venue (and that should be enough to put you off in the first place). God knows why. The catering is appalling, the decor is poor and the bedrooms and main accommodation block are straight from the 80's - sage bathroom suites, damp patches, and poky rooms with no free amenities. Not even a bottle of... More

Very well organised, very efficient, good price, staff were wonderful. The waitress and managers at dinner were very professional and had good hospitality skills. Food was delicious. Decor was a little bit dodgy, but that's just my opinion. Lovely place thank you

A relaxing spa break booked for Valentine's Day included full use of the spa,2 treatments,a 2 course lunch,£25 a head towards dinner, accommodation and breakfast at a very reasonable rate. The Hotel has the appearance of a modern facility but this masks a slighly jaded quality in the accommodation. The room with ill fitted carpet , accessed by a tortuous route... More

We stayed here for one night whilst attending a function in nearby Morpeth and, to be honest, were a bit disappointed. The 'double' room was small and very basic - open wardrobe, stained carpet, stained floor in bathroom etc. In addition, the hotel alarm was set off in the morning by someone having a shower! The breakfast was good, although... More

We have been staying at Longhirst Hall Hotel for 'two night breaks' the past four years and have such a wonderful time. My sister and I bought the first break for our mums Christmas present and now save every month for our next stay. The staff make us so very welcome and they cannot do enough for us, the best... More

Whilst some parts of the hotel are a little "tired" generally it is very clean and well presented. The food was of a good standard. We were staying as a family to attend my mother in laws funeral. There was 13 of us staying for 2 nights, although 4 of us had stayed a week earlier for 3 nights whilst visiting... More

Longhirst hall is located in the heart of the countryside, and therefore the setting is very scenic and natural. The building is gorgeous and the old features are still very apparent making it seen historic and cosy. I had booked a superior room for my girlfriends birthday. After checking in a reception the receptionist told us where to go, but... More

Spent three days at this delightful hotel. Superior room booked through Hotels.com. Very keen price including full english breakfast. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Large comfy room and well stocked bathroom. Nice and warm in cold January. Food in the bar is first class and quite filling. Wonderful hotel in a woodland setting. Handy for visiting Northumberland, and... More

Bit of a disappointment. Very weird layout. Lots of refurbishment needed especially bathroom. Reception staff not very helpful. No room service. Heating not on in January! Bar area not very cosy. More a place for people on business trips.

I don't really know what others are complaining about, when the hotel is a whole lot cheaper than others and I personally loved it. Yes, you can see an odd stain on the carpet here and there, but that doesn't take away from the magnificent beauty of the place. ..reception staff , a nice young man , was ever so... More
